Three from Wawasee on Grace College golf team
Three Wawasee graduates were members of the Grace College golf team that placed third in the Mid-Central- Conference and finished sixth in NAIA District 21 this past season. Mark Randall, a 1973 graduate and son of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Randall, r 1 Warsaw, was the captain and medalist of the team. “He played very consistently,” says Lancer Coach Phil Hoskins of the graduating senior. Mark shot a season average of 79 with his best match at Everhart in Mishawaka where he shot a 71. Playing number two position for the Lancers was Phil Randall. Mark's brother and a 1975 graduate of Wawasee. He shot an 80 for the season and his best score was a 69 shot at Shady Hills Golf Club in Marion Phil was a sophomore at Grace Steve Coverstone, son of Mr. and Mrs Dean Coverstone of North Webster, played third man Tippy ladies play foursome The play for the day for the Tippecanoe Lake Country Club ladies was best ball foursome with handicap at play last Friday, May 20 In first place was Jerri Parr. Helen Freeman. Lois Xanders and Mary Lee In the second place category, winning ladies were Ruth Emmerick. Evelyn Mieman. Maxine Harris and Mary Steele Third place honors went to Anne Howe. Amber Christensen. Jody Fratz and Denice Simons. Tied for fourth place were Irene Benzenburg. Doris Wright. Beth Flinn. Bonnie Kissell. Julia Evans. Myrtle Wentzel and Florae Summy.

for the Lancers. The 1974 graduate of Wawasee High School matched Phil’s score with a season total of 80. “Steve is a very nice golfer,” says Hoskins. Steve was a sophomore this past year. Late in the year the three men were all shooting in the 70’s. Os his three top golfers. Coach Hoskins says, "all three played the best golf of their life.” Rudy Cesco was their coach while at Wawasee. Tracksters settle for second at sectional

Wawasee's Lorenc Spearman proved to be the crowd pleaser as she raced her way across the finish line in the 100 in :10.8. the 220 in 25.1 and ended the 440 relay along with Kathy Bice. Barb Yoder and Rhonda Byrd with :51.2. Joanna Spearman. Bice. Terri Holtzclaw and Judy Fouts combined their talents to place second in both the 880 relay and the medley relay, preceded byElkhart Central.
