Milford's 7th annual MAD Day to begin with Legion parade
• Activities for Milford's seventh annual MAD Day will begin with the American Legion parade set to move out from the junior high school at 10 Again persons are asked not to park on the town's Mam Street business block during the earlymorning hours so the street will be clear for the parade The parade will move east on Emeline Street to Main Street under the direction of Ancil Geiger post 226, American Legion Units will turn north on Main Street and will stop in front of the memorial at the town hall for a brief ceremony . The parade will then continue north with units turning west on the Milford-Syracuse Road to SR 15 where they will be transported to the cemetery for the program. The speaker for the day will be Rev. Everett Owens of the Milford United Methodist Church’ Activities Moved The annual MAD Day activities will be held at the elementaryschool this year instead of at the junior high school as in the past Events will actually get underway early in the morning as the Milford Area Development Council sponsored Memorial Day tournament begins at 8 30 a m The first game of the two tourneyevent will be on the Little League diamond and will feature the Expos and the Twins x The second game will be Vnlayed following the parade at 11:30 am when the Sox and the JX'ards meet The Reds and ’Tigers will meet at 4 30 Winners of the first two games will meet at 3 p m and the championship game is set for 7:30 p.m. The major league girls softball tourney will begin at 1 p.m with the Pirates and the Braves meeting in the first game At 2 p.m. the Giants will meet the Indians The championship game will be played at 6:30 p.m. Ned Speicher is coordinating the tournaments The third event on the day's schedule is the start of the annual chicken barbecue at 10:30 a m.

Parades have sprung up all over the country in honor of : these heroes and the Lakeland area is no exception. Milford's parade will be at 10 a.m. with the line of march X being from the junior high school east to Main street, north on y; : Main street to the Milford-Syracuse road and then west to SR 15. £ : Rev.
