Most vocational students placed About 150 of the 1977 graduates have received vocational training at Wawasee High School. Most of them will go on to work at jobs related to their training. Dave McGrew, vocational director, says, "If they want to work, we can place them.” Currently, there is no placement program for the vocational students, but the vocational department does assist in placement. The former building trades, auto mechanics, and office lab students of the 1977 class, are for the mo6t part, placed. The office lab course even compiles a booklet with pictures of each student and a resume, which are circulated among business people. A follow-up study done by the vocational department on last year s graduating class, is not complete. But preliminary results indicate most of the students were employed in jobs related to their respective vocational training. "Most students were satisfied with the training they got.” McGrew added But the vocational offerings need expansion, McGrew said. To prepare students for health occupations, a new program is needed "We need this badly,” McGrew mentioned More prevocational building trades and a {Minting program at the high school, instead of the current West Noble location is also of need McGrew added that 80 per cent of each class does not go on to college and could benefit from vocational training
