After serving as interim pastor for over four months. Rev. Irvin B. Miller has accepted the pastorship of the New Salem Church of the Brethren, northeast of Leesburg at 900 N and 200E. Rev. Miller is a graduate of Grace College and Grace Theological Seminary at Winona Lake. As a student from 1950 to 1954, he served as pastor of the Broadway Christian Chapel, near Cromwell. Since graduation in 1954, Rev. Miller has served as pastor to churches in Indiana. Michigan, West Virginia and Ohio. The new' pastor is married to C. Jane Detwiler and both are natives of Bedford, Pa. The couple currently resides in Warsaw. They have four married children and eight grandchildren. j "It's a challenge." Rev. Miller said the couple is , just beginning to know the j congregation and the community The reverend said the congregation is enthusiastic, especially in the missions work "They’re a group of people who are willing to follow a leader and this is good.” explained Rev. Miller Since assuming his duties he has determined the emphasis of the church to be first, evangelistic; and second, the Vacation Bible School to be held at Lakeside Chapel "Learning to Pray” is the theme of the Wawasee Lakeside Chapel Vacation Bible School.
