Indiana corn planting may be higher than 1976

Indiana fanners report 1977 corn planting intentions at 6,600,000 acres, up two per cent from the actual plantings of 6,500,000 acres in 1976 Soybean planting intentions in Indiana are estimated at 3,600,000 acres, up nine per cent from actual plantings of last year s 3.300.000-acre soybean crop These figures are from summaries completed around Aprrf 1 by the statistical reporting service of the US Department Os Agriculture Nationally growers intend to plant 83 9 million acres of com for all purposes This is only slightly below the 1976 planted acres, but is seven per cent above Break-in at Sea Nymph is solved Town Marshal Ron Robinson, police, has announced that the recent burglary at Sea Nymph on East Chicago Street has been cleared up with the arrest of Steven Michael Davis, who pled guilty to taking a 1971 Pontiac Firebird from C. S Myers, Inc , Syracuse Davis was apprehended a few weeks ago for the theft of the car and subsequently arrested Davis also admitted knowledge of the break in at Sea Nymph on Saturday. April 16
