SWCD to observe county Soil Stewardship Week

« The Kosciusko Soil and Water Conservation District will observe Soil Stewardship Week, May 15 to 22. The week has been set aside to acknowledge God, show gratitude for the gifts of soil and water and all associated resources. County churches are invited to call the office of 827 S. Union St., Warsaw, for minister's booklets in observance of the week. _ In other business at the April meeting, the board heard a report from Larry Staley, SCS soil scientist, on the status of the county soil survey. State nursery trees were delivered and distributed this month. More than 30,000 seedling trees were ordered by Kosciusko residents from the state nursery at Medaryville. Drivers pay fines In Elkhart County CourtGoshen Division, last week, three Syracuse drivers paid fines for traffic violations Jack L. Neff. 23, r 1 paid a total of $42 for reckless driving. David D. Mehl. 24. r 3 was fined S4O for disregarding a stop sign. Paying for a speeding fine was Robert R. Devoss, 38. r 3. He was fined $42.
