Center qualifies 13 for state

Peterson guides girls in initial conference year
Following a winning 1976 season, the Wawasee girl's tennis team has begun work on the 1977 season under new leadership — Cindy Peterson. With the majority of her team consisting of freshmen and sophomores. Mrs. Peterson is working toward building a team. With the juniors and seniors, she explained. ‘ Basically, you’re not going to change their strokes.” But with her younger, inexperienced players, she is starting new. She said with the new tennis courts, eight of them, she has room for all 22 of her team to work out and play matches. "So we've got a place to build on now,” she added. The team has a 1-1 record going into last night's meet with Rochester. The defeat was Sinks hole-in-one Glenn King of Goshen scored a hole-in-one on Wawasee Golf Club’s par three, 150-yard 13th hole on Saturday, using a 7-iron. The enrollment for Milford’s summer recreation programs begins tonight (Wednesday) and continues through Thursday and Saturday. Parents are aska<! to accompany their children to the Milford junior high school gym for enrollment. Each team will play at least one game a week and have two afternoon practice sessions each week. A tournament will be played at the end of the season in each league.
