Ride-A-Bike for the Retarded rescheduled for this Saturday

The Lakeland Ride-A-Bike for the Retarded was postponed last Saturday because of the bad weather The ride is rescheduled for Saturday, April 30, at 10 a.m. starting from the Wawasee parking lot. Riders should continue to look for sponsors for the event Riders are also reminded to have parents sign the release to all claims form on the inside flap of the registration fomxif they are under 18-years-old

Warrior qolf team undefeated

By KEVIN ROCKENBAUGH The Warrior golf teams have won a number of victories over the past several days. Both the varsity and JV teams defeated Concord’s Minutemen last Wednesday with the varsity winning 168-182 for an impressive 9-1 record overall and a 2-0 conference record. The JV team won 164-190. The Warriors defeated both Manchester and Northridge in a three-way meet last Thursday as the varsity scored 154 to Manchester’s 171 and Northridge’s 182 The JV team scored 159 with Manchester finishing with 185 and Northridge finishing with 214 The teams defeated the Tippecanoe Vikings 161-176 and 182230 on Friday. Winning pitcher Mark Wolfe went the whole game, allowing only three hits. Losing pitcher for Warsaw was Grubbs, who wily, gave up six hits. Getting hits for the Warriors were Allen Coy, who was two for two; Gary Vance, also two for two and two runs batted in; Mark Simpson, one for three and two runs batted in. Warsaw got only one extra base hit and that was' by' the pitcher Stitler and was only a double. Coach Gregg Minigear states, “We have improved a lot defensively from eight errors in our first game to only three in our second." . I jg; LI NEW THORNBURG PHARMACIST — Lawrence C. Korey, formerly of Elkhart and Clearwater, Fla., has taken a position as pharmacist with Thornburg Drug at its Warsaw store. He holds two degrees at Columbia University. Mr. Korey was the first president of the Elkhart County Pharmaceutical Association, which he helped organize. Mrs. Korey is the farmer Virginia Minear of Caldwell Lake, Claypool, and they have a daughter Judy at home. Returning to Warsaw from Florida, the Koreys are looking forward to renewing old friendships and strengthening family ties in the county.
