Warriors win second in a row

By KEVIN ROCKENBAUGH The Wawasee Warriors won their second meet in a row by defeating the Manchester Squires 66-61 Thursday. Coach Minton says, “W’e’re not in shape yet, it should be about two weeks until we are.” Two new field records were achieved at this meet, one in the 100 yard dash and the other in the high hurdles. Dziados and Stanton in that order. Andy Wollman won the discus. Fall of Manchester took second and Bohnstedt took third. Mike Ousley captured the high jump with a jump of 6'2”, Messer took second and Keith Cripe took third. Smith placed first in the 440 with a time of 53:25 seconds, Hammand and Welker of Wawasee won second and third places. In the 880, it was Jones of Manchester winning with a time of 2:07:03. Gilbert of W J awasee took second and Purdy took third. Smith won the long jump by a jump of 20'1”. Welker took second and Dziados took third. Dziados. France and Stanton of Manchester won the 220 with a time of 23:03. In the low hurdles, it went Rick Bauman, Jones and Dan Andrews, the winning time being 21:05 seconds. Wawasee took two clean sweeps in the pole vault. Keith Cripe went 12’ followed by Dan Andrews and Morganthaler. In the shot, big Mitch Ousley sailed it 53' with W’ollman and John Beer following right behind him. In the two mile. Tim Hammand out lasted G. Robinson and W. Robinson by a time of 10:33:07. The Warrior relay teams lost to the Manchester relay teams in the 880 and the mile relays. Parmore Ladies set kickoff The Parmore Ladies Golf Club will hold its annual kickoff dinner on April 28 at 7:30 p.m. at the Inn Between, New Paris. Ladies 18 and over who wish to attend the dinner or join the club should call Mrs. Lawrence Miller or Mrs. Everett Pippen at Nappanee by April 25. Brown, a junior at GC. ranked third on her team in rebounds. Her season play showed 101 in 15 games. On scoring, she averaged slightly more than five points per game —a total of 76 points in 15 games.
