come in handy, says EMS president John Perry. An example he gave was last Thursday morning, when the service was called to transfer a patient from Goshen Hospital to a Warsaw hospital and received a simultaneous call on an industrial accident emergency. The transfer ambulance is a 1968 Pontiac equipped with cot, oxygen, some emergency and first aid equipment. It could be used for emergency runs if needed. Perry said. A base station has been put together, operating out of Walter's Drug Store. Barbara Dickinson, Alan Coy and Perry man the radio, recently purchased for $l,lOO. A portable unit is kept by a crew member at night to receive and dispatch calls. Perry reported several donations have been made to the service recently. The MailJournal gave SIOO, Ralston Purina. SIOO and Dr. W. J. Zehr made a $25 donation The greatest need by the service is for more interested persons to volunteer as emergency medical technicians. Perry said a little response was received after advertising the need. But he added, the service always needs more EMTs.
