Members of the Lakeland Ki warns Club will be sponsoring a double-feature program tomor row. Thursday. Debra Tyler of r 1 Milford became the bride of Kevin Bowler, also of r 1 Milford, in a 7 o'clock ceremony on Friday evening, March 25. The wedding took place in the Milford United Methodist Church in the presence of 125 guests. Rev. Everett Owens, pastor of the church, officiated at the double-ring ceremony. The new Mrs. Bowler is the daughter of Donna J. Tyler of r 1 Milford. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Bowler of r 1 Milford. The altar of the church was decorated with baskets of white gladioli with apricot pompon. “Wedding Song,”’ “We've Only Just Begun” and “The Lord's Prayer" were songs featured by Mr and Mrs. Richard Roose Given in marriage by Clifford Thomas, the bride appeared in a gown of ivory satin-finished polyester with split-mandarin neckline and fitted bodice trimmed in re-embroidered Alencon lace and pearls. Joy Rumfelt becomes bride of Daniel Mishler Palm Sunday
Hastings Island Chapel United Methodist Church was the setting for the marriage of Joy LoVerne (Biller) Rumfelt of r 2 Milford and Daniel Mishler of Lima. Ohio. The ceremony immediately followed the morning worship service Palm Sunday, April 3. with an overflow crowd. Mrs Rumfelt was escorted down the isle by her father. Henry Biller. She wore a melon floor-length gown and carried a rose trimmed white Bible Her corsage was white roses. Mrs. Pansy Stump of Nappanee, sister of the bride, served as matron of honor. She was attired in a blue floor-length gown and matching corsage. Rev. Allen Weldy, North Webster. Hastings grade teacher of the bride and bridegroom, served as best man and gave the closing prayer. Oscar Graffs celebrate 60th wedding anniversary
Mr and Mrs Oscar Graff of Milford were guests of honor at a 60th anniversary supper given by their daughters and families in the House of Friendship at Winona Lake. Ride-A-Bike for the Retarded
The Lakeland Community Educators Association and the Wawasee Chapter of Future Educators in Action have begun their campaign to find riders for the April 23 Ride-A-Bike for the Retarded Day. Riders from the sixth grade to adults are askedto participate. The bike ride routewill be shortened this year to 10 miles and if riders wish to ride 20

CRC to purchase picnic table Thirteen members of the Columbian Reading Circle met cn March 28 in the home of Mrs. Max Duncan. During the business meeting, the club voted to donate money for a new picnic table for the town park. Items were taken to the meeting by members to be taken to Hepzibar House at Warsaw, a rehabilitation house .for women. The program for the evening was "Show and Tell" with members displaying and explaining many interesting keepsakes and hobbies At the close of the evening the hostess served refreshments. The group will attend a style show given by the Sorosis club on April 11 and the next regular meeting will be on April 25 in the home of Mrs Harry D Doty with Mrs. Elizabeth Tobin giving the program. Afternoon Club enjoys tour of the Nile River Members of the Wednesday Afternoon Club held a meeting Wednesday March 30. in the home of ,urs. Virgil Bobeck Twenty members and two guests attended. The program for the afternoon was introduced by Mrs. Dean Pittman. “The Nile” revisited was the name of the program presented by Mrs. James Lesh. She said that the story of the Nile by E. Ludwig was first presented to the club in March of 1938 by the late Mrs. Stephen Truman. Mrs. Lesh showed the club maps of the Nilerand notes of Mrs. Truman. Taking the club on a verbal tour of the country, she took the club through the Belgium Congo, Uganda, Tonga. Sudan and Cairo. During the business portion of the meeting, Mrs. Emerick. Mrs. Dean Pittman and Mrs. Peter Blue reported on the county convention held two weeks ago. Refreshments were served by the hostess. Mrs. Virgil Bobeck and Mrs. Nelson Miles. The next meeting will be in the home of Mrs. Ray Buhrt April 13 Silver Thimble Club knots comforters, The knotting of two comforters was the project of the month for the Silver Thimble Club of the Apostolic Christian Church of Milford. The members met in the home of Mrs. Philip Beer on Monday evening. April 4. The cohostess was Mrs. Steven Haab. Mrs. Haab served as president pro-tern Mrs. Don Beer, Sr., chairwoman of the motherdaughter banquet, said it would be held in the church fellowship hall on May 2 at 6:30 p.m. Happy Anniversary was sung for Mrs Robert Hoerr who will be married 31 years on April 14. Mrs. Arthur Haab read the Easter story from Saint Luke, chapter 24:1-7. It was also announced that a special program of music will be presented by the combined choirs of the Calvary and Saint Andrew's United Methodist Churches at 6:30 a m. Easter Sunday. “I’m Talking to You: Am I Listening?" was the name of the lesson presented by Mrs. Virgil Eaton Mrs. C. R. Return from visit with family members Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Reed. 137 West North Street, Syracuse, returned Sunday night from Centerville, lowa, where they spent time getting acquainted with the latter's son-in-law, Albert Fowler, and Mrs. Reed’s two-week-old grandson. Pete Denton. This visit was also a reunion for Mrs. Reed who had not seen her daughter for 10 years, and included a reunion with three other children whom she had not seen for 10 years.

The riders turn in a portion of the form to the LCEA members at the starting point and keep the other portion to use in collecting pledges after the ride. Any participants who are under the age erf 18 must have their parent or guardian sign the registration form. Registration forms will be available beginning Monday. April 11, by contacting one of the following persons: Richard Roose at Milford Junior High; Elten Powers at North Webster Junior High; Milton Brice at Syracuse Junior High; and Tony Clouse, Terry Iden. Guard of r 2 Leesburg have announced the engagement of their daughter Peggy of Mentone to Dale Custer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley M. Custer of r 1 Milford. The bride-elect is a 1972 graduate of Wawasee High School. She received her BS degree in education from Grace College in 1976 and is a second grade teacher at Akron. Her fiance is a 1969 graduate of Wawasee High School. He holds an AAS and BS degree from Purdue University, class of 1973 in prof, pilot technology. He is employed with Stanley Custer and Sons, excavating. The couple is planning a June 18 wedding in the Milford Christian Church. Juveniles shoot gun Two juveniles were reported to be shooting a gun at the back of a garage on North Huntington Street sometime Monday afternoon, April 4, Ron Robinson, Syracuse police chief said. He said the gun was confiscated and the juveniles released to their parents. Paul J. Miller is promoted to cadet staff sgt. US AIR FORCE ACADEMY. Colo. — Cadet Paul J. Miller, son of Dr. and Mrs. Thomas A. Miller of Milford, has been promoted to the rank of cadet staff sergeant at the US Air Force Academy. Cadet Miller, a member of the class of 1979. has also been appointed an information sergeant. Assignment to this position will provide invaluable job and leadership experience. The cadet is a 1975 graduate of Wawasee High School.
