United Fund becomes United Way on April 1

The United Fund of Kosciusko County, Inc., has announced two changes to become effective April 1. After 19 years of service to 20 local member agencies, the United Fund is changing its name to the United Way of Kosciusko County. The organization hopes the change will bring it in closer contact with other United Ways across the nation. Also, officers have announced the appointment of James Benzenburg to the position of executive director of the United Way. Benzenburg said he hopes to bring United Way agencies in better focus before Kosciusko County citizens. “A special vote of thanks goes to the original officers and board members of the United Way upon the establishment of our agency in 1958. Through their dedicated efforts and planning, a firm basis was established that enables our United Way to fulfill today’s needs.” After listing the original officers. Benzenburg added, “Through the years, many community minded individuals gave of their time and efforts to aid our citizens. I sincerely hope to carry out their wishes.” Benzenburg was formerly employed as general manager of Clausing, Inc., is a member of the
