As such, he proposed to the Syracuse town board at a recent meeting that the board change the name of Railroad Park to Henry Ward Park, after a co-founder of the town of Syracuse. Louis E.. Mediano, 318 N. Harrison St., Syracuse. 33 years of age, has been named as a regular officer with the Syracuse police department. Steve Keim has moved his sporting goods and bait and tackle business from Pickwick Place into the village area at the hardware. Two Wawasee teachers and four students are currently on a crossroads of Europe trip to London. Stratford-on-Avon. Amsterdam. Brussels and Paris. MARCH 29. 1967 Mrs. T. L. Kline and Mrs. Pat Bornman. Syracuse, entertained recently at a miscellaneous shower for Mrs. William J. Hess Mrs. Hess and her husband, who is with the U.S.i Navy, recently returned from Bermuda and now have left for Coos Bay, Ore., where Mr. Hess is stationed. Go-getter Mike McCormick was grand prize for finding 50 eggs in the hunt, and his win was a bigger-than-life stuffed rabbit. About all he could do was tote his trophy away. 20YEARS AGO. MARCH 28. 1957 Town attorney Leon Connolly reported this week that work is progressing in an effort to eliminate the offensive odor and residue of the Stiefel Grain equipment. The president of the Johnson Company of Philadelphia, which installed the scrubber equipment, and one of their engineers, has been here to plan revamping the apparatus. Louie’s Grill, completely remodeled and redecorated, will open Thursday 4 April. Bob Sheire. who took over the management this year, plans to operate the year around. Juniors will present their play. "Papa Was a Preacher,’ - tomorrow night at 8 p.m. at the Syracuse High School auditorium. Mr and Mrs. Jon Bushong are parents erf a daughter, Tonya Renee, born Sunday 24 March at the Goshen Hospital. MARCH 31.1932 Mrs. Jo Ruch was injured in an automobile accident in Ligonier. Tuesday evening. She took Betty Wilt there to take an elocution lesson, making the trip in Joel Wilt’s car.
