March 15, from 3-5 p.m It was announced the club will be having a stitch-and-knit fabric party. March 26.1-3 p.m., at the Milford Fire Station. A demonstration will be given by Carol Wakeman. Posters for the party are to be made by Janet Wall. Beth Burke and Judy Wall The 4-H pledge was led by Dawn Green and the American pledge by Marcia Evans. The devotion was given by Pegge Burke. Demonstrations were then given by Belinda and Peggy Burke. Belinda Burke gave a demonstration on the four basic food groups, followed by Peggy Burke on the Mickey Mouse salad. Club calendars and project books were also handed out. Project for share the fun was then discussed Tammy Kern, a new member, was welcomed into the chib. Mrs. Oscar Schmucker is one of .the chib’s advisors. Refreshments were served by Maria Woifennan, Judy w « u - Lesha Smith, Beth Burke and Michelle Johnston. The next meeting of the Junior Merry -Maidens will be April 19 at the CAC

Ferverdas entertain Room 4-U 4-H Club By CARMEN BRYANT The Room 4-U 4-H Club, North Webster, met in the home of Kay Judy and Amy Fervada. March 15. Projects to be taken to the fair were discussed. Also discussed were rule changes at the fair. Judy Fervada then told of her trip to Indianapolis as a page for Senator Augsburger. Carol Walker gave a demonstration on latch hooking and Amy Fervada gave one on how to set a table. Following the health and safety report given by Kay Fervada. recreation and group singing were held.

Norman Vanlaningham competing for Wabash College scholarship
A Wawasee High School senior, Norman Vanlaningham of r 2 Milford, is among more than 300 students competing for 30 honor scholarships totaling $344,000 for four years of study at Wabash College. Wabash awards 30 four-year renewable honor scholarships to incoming freshmen on the basis of two written examinations, without regard to financial need.
Senior Hoppy Bachelors ore entertained by Clark Schieler
By KATHY WEISSER The Milford Senior Happy Bachelors 4-H club met in the home of Clark Schieler on Monday evening. March 21. There were 15 members at the meeting. The pledge' to the American flag was led by Clark Schieler and Phil Dowty led the 4-H pledge.

Snowbirds meet, elect officers By DAWN NEISES The Syracuse Snowbud Blue birds met last Wednesday. March 16. at the Scout cabin with nine girls present. Officers for the month of March were selected. They are; President — Stephanie Crow Vice-president — Angie Mullett Secretary — Dawn Neises The pledge was led by Kathy Owens and the Bluebird wish byAngie Mullett. Shamrocks for Saint Patrick’s Day were and decorated, some with felt to wear. Refreshments were served by Dawn Neises and Stephanie Crow. The meeting then closed with the Blue Bird Nest song.
Ten of the scholarships cover the $3,200 tuition plus S6OO each year; 10 more cover the tuition; and another 10 cover half the tuition. The honor scholarships are part of an extensive program of competitive scholarships at Wabash, which annually provides over $1 million in student aid.
The club members voted to send a donation to the International Farm Youth Exchange program. There will be two meetings at Warsaw for those enrolled in electricity; those meeting dates are June 1 and June 15. A roller skating party will be held at Winona Lake in April. Each 4-H member may take a guest.

STARS AND STRIPES FOREVER — The play. Stars and Stripes Forever, will be shown to all students in grades three-eight. Lakeland Community Schools, \tarch 25. The play deals with Betsy Ross, seamstress of the American Hag and her struggles with patriotism, her marriage to John Ross and her fight for independence. The time of the play is 1775, the year before the American Revolution. Stars and Stripes Forever is a Bicentennial musical and runs for one hour.

Sue Niles gives junior voice recital
Susan Niles, a music major at the University of Evansville, recently gave her junior voice recital at Wheeler Concert Hall on the university campus Included in her program were Wenn du zu den Blumen gehst and Schlafendes Jesukind by Wolf; Dammerung senkte sich von oken and Audie Nachtigal by Brahms; Nicht wiedersehen by Mohler. Amaltos Lullaby by Monteverdi; Beau Sir by Debussy; Nell by Faure; and four songs from A Net of Fire Flies by Persichetti. Susan is a Wawasee High School graduate. Attending from this area were Mr. and Mrs. N. R. Niles and Todd Niles. Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Ferverda, Susan Connolly and Mark Reiff.

MILFORD MAN FINED $34 Rogelio Castro, 21, r 1 Milford, was charged $34 for a traffic violation recently. A bumper height law violation was his offense.
