Warriors stop Rochester 75-66 in Friday's sectional action

By FRED POWELL In Friday night’s sectional action the Wawasee Warriors moved into the finals with a well fought 75-66 win over the Rochester Zebras. During the first half it was a nip and tuck battle with fans sitting on the edges of their seats most of the time. The first quarter was tied at 16 and the half ended at 33 apiece. During the third period the Warriors left the Zebras behind in the dust of the war trail. An outstanding performance by Warrior Bryan Smith helped to put the Warriors ahead by 16 at the end of the third stanza. Smith stole the ball many times and ripped the nets for 12 points to help the Warrior cause. In the fourth period, despite the determination of the Zebra squad, the Warriors held the lead and rode the trail to victory. Bryan Smith paced the Warriors with 26 points and Joe Paulik was high for the Zebras with 20.
