Lambert: 'Zebra's strength is quickness'

“Their strongest point is their quickness,” says Wawasee varsity basketball coach Jerry Lambert, after scouting his team’s sectional opponents — the Rochester Zebras. The Warriors practiced at Triton last night in preparation for their game set for the first contest Friday evening In a previous meeting, Wawasee beat Rochester 61-60. “So we know they’re going to be a strong opponent," Lambert said. The Zebras like to fast-break, so Lambert plans to attempt to slow them down. “Basically, we know if we keep them on the outside and keep them from penetrating they won’t be as effective," Lambert explained. He did say that the opponents had Ed Waltz, Dave McCarter and Todd Walters, who were pretty good strong outside shooters. “I’m very pleased with the way we’ve been moving the ball.” Lambert said, after ending the season with an 8-12 record with a win over West Noble. Rebounding will be important in the Rochester game, Lambert pointed out. “We need to really take an advantage in this area. Starters in the sectional game will be Kent Trobaugh and Bryan Smith, guards; Norm Vanlaningham. center and Ken Tumday NigM Ladies The Paper's inc. 31Vi Bellman's Case 64” 35” Syracuse Rubber 54” 45” Das Keller .
