, By REV. WM. EVANS. Pastor North W ebster Church Os God Just who are we? The name out front labels our place of worship as a “Church of God.” That may be confusing because there are a lot of church buildings around with all kinds of names. There are as many reasons for these many names. The reason for .our use of the name “Church of God’’’ This is the name often applied to the early church in the New Testament. We like to get as close as we can to those early days and the teachings of Christ. “Church of God” has other meanings for us. The term can also apply to all Christians who have given their lives to Christ. By using this name we want to identify ourselves with all bornagain Christians, no matter what barriers some may raise among 1 themselves. We use the name, because, we want to witness that we are a part of the one church ! which Christ founded We have no : formal church membership. “ EZach person becomes a member j of the body of Christ by accepting! His salvation. Our creed is the! Word of God. It is remarkable how very close we all believe, when we study the Bible, meditate on it and allow the Holy Spirit to teach us. The Bible describes the way of salvation, and so we stress evangelism a| great deal. And individuals

beliefs count most when they are lived out daily. We simply try to live by the Word of God and back our actions with the love of Christ. This congregation tries to carry on its work and its busmess affairs under the guidance of the Holy Spirit with dignity and yet with enthusiasm. We believe the church has an educational as well as an evangelistic task, so we carry on Sunday School classes, youth meetings, family night f activities and senior citizens programs, plus many other local activities. We serve in the ' community. We have Christian interests beyond our local ! boundries. We are heavily in- ; volved in out-reach in starting new congregations in Indiana and i the United States. We assist churches in more than 20 countries. Our missionary out-reach budget exceeds one-fourth of our ,{ total giving and we’re reaching : for one-half to be our expression , of love and service. We are planning our fourth annual Missions Convention on March 2-€th. On Wednesday. March 2 at 7 p.m., “Bob Hobbs and the Sounds of Praise." will be our guests. These folks will share with us concerning world hunger as World Vision and World Service endeavor to help. Thursday, March 3,7 p.m., returned missionaries Maurice

together right here. We are average people, trying to raise our families and pay our debts and make ends meet and be good representatives of Jesus Christ. We like to see new faces in our congregation and we like to see those new faces come back again and again. Our church doors are open to all! You are welcome.
Rev. William Evans contacts three persons, who in turn contact others, activating approximately 25 persons who will pray. Ladies' Bible study on Tuesday mornings is attended by 45 ladies. About 100 persons, children and adults, participate in Family Night on Wednesdays. For three years, the Missions Outreach has been in operation. The division of the funds and their use is 50 per cent overseas. 25 per cent in the states and 25 per cent for local use. Through this program the church has missions in Kenya, India and Panama.
