The collision occurred at the intersection of Elkhart CR’s 40 and 31 when Miss Yoder, traveling west on CR 40. stopped at the intersection and Kaufman traveling behind her was unable to stop in time to avoid the collision. Pontiac slides into truck on . highway 6 A 1972 Pontiac, driven by Danny L. Bishop of Bay Shore. Syracuse, slid out of control on icy pavement oniCR 29 in Elkhart County and struck a truck operated by Everett O. Sams. 39. of Fort Wayne. Sams was traveling east on US 6 when the accident occurred Wednesday morning. ' Estimated damages amounted to SI,BOO to the Pontiac and S3OO to the truck. Collision on railroad tracks A collision occurred Friday, Feb 6, on the Main Street railroad crossing in Syracuse when James R. Howard, 32. of Syracuse attempted to cross the tracks and became stuck. He backed his vehicle up in efforts to free his ear and struck the front end of an auto driven by Gary K. Shand. 17, 141 N. Shore Dr.. Syracuse. The accident resulted in $450 damages to the Howard vehicle and S2OO damages to the Shand auto. .
