Tatman 203 Warriorettes fall to powerful Westview team By TERRI HOLTZCLAW r The Wawasee girls basketball team failed to accomplish a victory against a well built Westview team 46-51. The score shifted from one team to the other throughout the game which kept the crowd on the edge of their seats. Disappointment arose in the Warriorette fans as they were down 25-38 in the third quarter. It was not until the end of the fourth quarter that the Warriorettes pulled back the Westview offense leaving the score at 44-44 with 2:40 remaining. The pressure increased and left theWarriorettes trailing 46-51 at the end of the game. , Chery 11 Skelton led the score with 10 points as Kathi Replogle scored nine. Cheryll also was leading rebounder as team mate Mary Kitson followed. The girls’ next meet is Monday at Columbia City. Their record stands at 0-5. Leading scorers were Jeannie Dye with eight points and Lorene Spearman and Teresa Carpenter each had six. Kelly Hamman was leading rebounder along with Spearman.

Warriorettes yet to win I By TERRI HOLTZCLAW Last Monday the girls basketball team lost to a tough Columbia City squad. The Warriorettes found themselves down 43-53 at the end of the game. High point girls for Wawasee were Kathi Replogle with 13 and Bea Carvajal with 11. Leading rebounders were Mary Kitson and Carvajal. The girls record is now 04>. Their next meet is Monday at Goshen at 6:30. Elkhart County Rural Youth to meet on Monday Elkhart County Rural Youth will meet on January 10, 1977, at 7:30 p.m. in the Farm Bureau Insurance office in Goshen. The program for the evening will be an initiation ceremony by John Grosse, membership chairman The educational part of the meeting will be a Jilm on marijuana by Roger Geimer The Elkhart County Rural Youth club is open to any young, single adult between the ages of 17 and 30 in the city, suburban or rural areas of Elkhart county. The goals of the club are to provide a program of education, recreation and service to the community.

sled races. Snow Olympics are for kids in grades 3,4, 5,6, 7 and 8, but there will be special events for any parents that would like to take part, such as a canoe race on the snow. All children and adults are asked to meet at the youth center at 1 p.m. and then go together to the snow area. There will be a small charge to take care of refreshments and the awards that be given to all competitors. If you are out of the area, it’s asked that you call the center to pre-register. For kids in the North Webster, Milford and Syracuse areas you may sign up at your schools.
