NEW ROOF FOR CROW ROOFING — A new gable roof is being installed at the Crow Roofing Co. building, located on road 13 south of Syracuse. The building also houses the Star Store, operated by Steve and Linda Crow. Besides giving the two firms a better roof, it will provide much-needed storage space.

North Webster farmers harvest 180.54 bushels of com per acre

Robert B. Miller and Son of North Webster were recently named members of the DeKalb Yieldmasters club for producing 180.54 bushels of corn per acre in 1976. Lieutenant Cressman, a pilot at Little Rock, will serve at RheinMain AB. during the unit’s stay in Europe. Such units are rotated, generally on a 60-day basis, to overseas locations to maintain a high degree of flexibility and operational readiness. Personnel of the 314th, operating C-130 Hercules transports. are providing airlift for US Armed Forces, resupplying US Embassies and supporting NATO training exercises while in the European theater. The lieutenant, a 1970 graduate of Brookside high school. Sheffield Lake. Ohio, received his BS degree in 1974 from Ohio university, Athens, where he was commissioned through the air force reserve officers training corps program His wife. harvested from a solid block measuring 1.908 acres. An impartial third party verified the high yield which was recorded from a field of DeKalb XL-42. Miller and Son planted the crop on May 4 in 35-inch rows and harvested the crop on November 15. Their fertilizer program included 154 pounds of nitrogen. 48 pounds of phosphate, and 155 pounds of potash. Miller and Son controlled weeds with AAtrex at 14 pounds per acre and Lasso at one quart per acre. Fur a dan was used at 10 pounds per acre for insect control Concerning the hybrid s performance. Robert Miller says, Pole hit after driver falls asleep A Syracuse driver. Michael C. Gibson. 24. fell asleep as he was driving on CR 650E Saturday at 7:30 a m and his auto hit a telephone pole and fence belonging to C. K. Pierson of Warsaw. Damages incurred were S6OO to the Gibson auto. $75 to the pole and $l5O to lhe fence.
