The annual women's Christmas party and program was held on Sunday evening The entire family was invited to the 6 o'clock supper. Christmas with lighted candles. A lighted tree also graced fellowship hall. Following the meal, organ and piano prelude was played by Denise Darr and Elaine Kilmer. Christmas carols were led by Mrs Glen Morehouse Two poems were read by Lorraine Meek and Mrs Jeff Carroll Miss Kilmer and Miss
Darr played a duet, “Star of the Elast." Mrs Edwin Meek led in devotions, reading the Christmas story from Luke, a prose and led in prayer Mrs. Robert Hurd. Mrs. Wayne Teeple. Mrs Carl Lehman and Mrs John Plank sang “One Day at a Time" accompanied by Miss Kilmer. Dr Wendel Shank. Syracuse optometrist, showed pictures and told of his fourth mission to foreign countries to help examine and fit glasses to needy people The benediction was given by Mrs. Albert Mathews. tests the past week Mrs. Vic Virgil of Etna Green underwent major surgery last Thursday at the Goshen hospital. The Virgils were former residents in the New Salem vicinity. Grubb, 17, of r 4 Syracuse, traveling east on East Chicago St., Syracuse, lost control of his car on slippery roads and hit the side a car parked in the Rinker’s Boat Company parking lot. The parked car belonged to Carl F. Godfrey, 100 Height St., Syracuse. Damages were estimated at SBOO to the Grubb vehicle and SI,OOO to the Godfrey car.

Guests of honor at a recent Brock Manufacturing dealers meeting and banquet, at the Holiday Inn in Goshen, were Don Ahrns and his wife, Bernice, of Milford. Mr. Ahrns retired recently after serving as sales manager for 14 years with the company. He has the distinction of selling more feed and grain Inns than anyone in the industry during his years with Brock Mfg., Co. Dave Peterson, grain bin sales manager, was master of ceremonies for the evening activities. A gold watch was presented to honored guest, Don Ahrns, by Brock president, Paul Brembeck. who expressed Wilbur M. Smith makes NIPSCo service milestone HAMMOND, Ind. - Wilbur M. Smith, Syracuse, joined Northern Indiana Public Service Company’s Quarter Century club in November. A serviceman. Smith joined the utility in 1951 as a groundman in the construction department. He transferred to the company’s Goshen district in 1968. He was born in Pulaski county and he attended Pulaski high school. A licensed realtor, Smith is a past member of the Syracuse planning commission and Syracuse board of zoning appeals. He belongs to the Winamac Masonic Lodge and the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry of South Bend. Wilbur and his wife, Joyce, are the parents of two sons.

company appreciation for Mr. Ahrn's fine record of salesmanship and customer satisfaction. Special recognition and gifts were also presented to Mr. Ahrns by two out of state Brock dealers, on behalf of the group attending. Mr. Ahrns offered sincere appreciation for the honors accorded him and the friendships made during his association with the company. Following the dinner meeting and recognition awards, a special program was given by a guest speaker and musical entertainment was presented by the country western group, Captain Stubby and the Buccaneers. Slides into parked car Pamela K. Barnett, 20, 311 South Third St., Goshen, traveling south on Huntington St., Syracuse, slid into a Dodge parked in front of 103 South Huntington St. Damages estimated for the Dodge belonging to an unidentified person were SSO. The Barnett vehicle was not damaged.
