Hall of fame dinner to be held Sept. 29

The Kosciusko County Republican Central committee is sponsoring a hall of fame dinner this year for 12 county Republicans who have made outstanding contributions to good government. The following years there will be two appointed each year to this hall of fame.

First report given for 1976 United Fund drive

The United Fund of Kosciusko county’s first campaign report meeting was held Wednesday, Sept. 15, at a local restaurant. After just three days of Attend United Fund organizing meeting Edward R. Betz, north community chairman for the 1976 United Fund campaign, has announced an organizational meeting of his community chairmen was held Friday, Sept. 17, at the South Shore Country club. Syracuse. Those attending the meeting were Mrs. Sam Mautner. Atwood chairman; Mrs. Terry Musselman, Milford chairman; Rick Miller, Leesburg chairman; and Larry Baumgardt, Syracuse chairman Plans were laid for the kick-off set for Monday, Sept. 27, at the South Shore Country club at Syracuse. Approximately 60 volunteers will serve with the community chairmen when this year’s United Fund campaign gets underway in the northern half of Kosciusko county. Leesburg man involved in car-cycle crash Ernest J. Whitacre, 27, r 1 Leesburg, was involved in an accident when the car he was driving north on SR 13 Sunday night in the rain, one and one-half miles south of North Webster, collided with a motorcycle driven by Jimmy Lee Hooper, 24, of 508 Sq**th Morton St, Warsaw. Hooper was «aruwn tz teei after the impact and sustained a fractured leg in the mishap. He was transferred to Parkview hospital. Fort Wayne. Whitacre was transported to Kosciusko Community hospital, where he was treated and released. According to investigating officers, Kosciusko county ptdice captain Thomas Kitch and county police patrolman Gerry Moser, estimates of the damage were SI,OOO to the car and SBOO to the motorcycle.
