The B. and O. railroad's continued interest in Lake Wawasee is shown in the August issue of the company magazine. The cover is a photograph entitled “Moonlight on Lake Wawasee.” Explaining it on the next page is the account. “One hundred and twenty miles east of Chicago we unexpectedly come upon one of the loveliest vacation spots along the B. and O. — Lake Wawasee. Ind.” * A OUTLOOK SPEAKER — The annual Outlook meeting is one of the most important extension gatherings of the year, says Vic Viggil of Kosciusko county. The wide fluctuation in prices for both crops and livestock, rapidly rising production costs, uncertainty of export demand obscure the future. These several phases of livestock production make the 1976-77 farm outlook especially important. The meeting is open to the public and will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 15. at 7:30 p.m. at the community center in Atwood. An identical session will be held at the extension office in Goshen on Thursday evening, Sept. 16. at 7:30 p.m. Ed,Carson, above. Purdue ag economist. will lead the discussion which will include prospects for agriculture for the next several years. There will be a full discussion of the production and price prospects for the.year ahead. Those in attendance will have an opportunity to raise specific questions. This year’s corn crop is the largest in history. Soybean production is down. The impact of the prices of grains has on livestock production has resulted in considerable uncertainty. Will tfom and soybean prices go up or down? Will it pay to store grain crops this year? Should I increase my hog business? Can I afford to feed cattle this year? Have land prices topped out? Ibcse i r e the kinds of questions that many Indiana farmers are concerned about. This meeting is especially appropriate for farm operators and wives, landowners and .representatives of agribusiness.
