Theodore W. Stone Final rites were held at 1:30 p.m. today (Wendesday) at the Harris funeral home in Syracuse for Theodore W. Stone, 55, who died while swimming at Kale Island, Lake Wawasee, Sunday afternoon, Aug. 22. Rites were conducted by Rev. Aksel Larsen of the Lutheran church and interment was in the Syracuse cemetery. The deceased was born in Chicago February 2,1921, the son of Carl and Louise (Hartkey) Stone, and lived two years in Syracuse and the remainder of his life in Chicago/ 7 He marriediCatherine Bertling, AugusML 1943 He was a retired general foreman for the Youngstown Sheet and Tube Co. of Indiana Harbor, and was employed by Wawasee Electronics Co. at the time of his death. Survivors include his widow; a son, W'illiam C. Stone, Calumet City, Ill.; two daughters, Mrs Benny (Sandra) Kosinski, Bloomfield Hills. Mich., and Cathy Stone. Chicago; two sisters. Helen Glesge and Gertrude Baker, both of Lansing. 11l ; and a brother. Carl, of Fort Wayne Charles Hewitt Funeral services were held in the Hams funeral home at Syracuse at 1:30 p m Monday for Charles Edward Hewitt. 66. r 3 Syracuse Hewitt died on August 20 in the Goshen hospital Death was due to complications. He had been ill for several years The deceased “ was bom on March 7,1910 in Noble county and had lived in the area most of his life He married Mary Stneby on October 19. 1941 He was retired from the Leesburg Lumber Co Survivors include a son. Fred of North Webster; two daughters. Shirley, at home and Betty Miller of r 2 Syracuse, two grandchildren; one brother. Fred Stiver of Goshen, and a number of nieces.and nephews. Rev Chester Reed officiated at the services with burial in the North Webster cemetery. Pauline Cornell Mrs Pauline Eleanor Cornell. 64. 1403 South Fifteenth St., Goshen, passed away Wednesday. Aug 18. in Goshen hospital where she was admitted two hours earlier, after suffering an apparent stroke She had been an employee and trust officer at the Salem Bank and Trust Co., in Goshen for 39 years Mrs Cornell was a member of the National Association of Banking Women, the Indiana Bankers Association, the National Secretaries Association. Delta Chi Sigma Omicron Sorority, Goshen Lady Elks and the Maplecrest Country club She was bom November 20. 1911 to John J and Lydia (Troyeri Hostetler m Elkhart, moved to Goshen in 1930 and on December 24. 1944 was married to Burch Voorhees, who died April 12. 1949 She married John M Cornell on September 5.1970 He survives along with a stepson. John W Cornell, Buena Park, Calif ; three stepdaughters. Mrs. Michael (Carol) Summy and Mrs Howard (Nancy) Heeter. both of Goshen and Mrs William

Funeral services were conducted by Dr. Andrew L. Hardie, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, where she was a member, at the Yoder-Culp funeral home. Burial followed at Violett cemetery Nettie 0. Teeple Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist church at Oswego for Nettie O. Teeple, 88, who passed away at 8:20 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 21 Death followed an illness of six months in the home of her son John, r 1 Leesburg, where she made her home Rev. Raymond Finkbiner, pastor of the Oswego First Baptist church, officiated and interment was in the Oswego cemetery The deceased was born in Oswego July 1, 1888, to Joseph and Ella (Hutchinson) Lippincott and had resided all her life in the Oswego community. She was married March 2, 1917 to Lester Teeple. who preceded her •in death She was a member of the Oswego First Baptist church Survivors include three sons, John W , Charles R and Wayne E. Teeple. all erf r 1 Leesburg; 11 grandchildren; 18 greatgrandchildren; and a sister. Miss Nevada E. Lippincott, of Warsaw. Aug 20, at First Church of God, Nappanee, for Delbert L. Stutzman. 71, of 801 South Summit St, Nappanee, who passed away Tuesday in his home> He was born at Rensselaer on November 5. 1904 to Levi J. and Susan (Schlabaugh) Stutzman and on January 24. 1922 was married to Mary Jane Miller Stutzman retired in 1969 from 30 years of employment at Vitreous Steel Co. He was a member of the First Church of God, the Father’s Auxiliary’ of VFW No. 51 and member and past-president of Nappanee Senior Citizens Surviving with his widow, Mary Jane, are five sons. by Rev. D. J. Davis and Rev. Alien Combs and burial was in Union Center cemetery. Funeral arrangements were handled by Wright-Yoder funeral home, Nappanee. David Overmyer Funeral services were conducted Thursday, Aug. 19, for David D. Overmyer. 15, of Marion, who died Monday, Aug f 16, in Parkview hospital, Fort Wayne, of complications following brain surgery to remove a malignant tumor. The surgery was performed August 5. The youth was the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Overmyer, r 1 North Webster. He was bom March 28, 1961 to Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Overmyer at Jonesboro. The family later moved to Marion, where the deceased would have been a sophomore in the high school this faU. Surviving with his parents and grandparents are two brothers and a sister, Jeff, Eddie and Debbie, all at home; and his maternal grandfather, Arthur Alexander, a patient at the Veterans Administration hospital at Marion. Services were conducted at Swift and Story funeral home at Gas City and burial was in Memorial cemetery at Marion Robert Yoder Funeral services were conducted Tuesday. Aug. 24. for Robert Yoder. 56, Flint, Mich,, brother of Dr Eugene Yoder of Syracuse Yoder died Aug. 22 in Hurley hospital, Flint, Mich., after having been ill with cancer for the past year. The deceased was born December 20, 1919 to Dr. and Mrs. Samuel L. Yoder, in Goshen His mother survives in Goshen. In addition to his mother and brother in Syracuse, he is survived by his wife, the former Barbara Bonhajo; two sons, David Yoder. Evanston, 111., and Thomas Yoder. Ann Arbor, Mich ; a daughter, Susan Yoder, at home; two grandsons, and two other brothers, Don 0 Yoder, Grand Junction. Mich., and Carl Yoder, Louisville, Ky. A granddaughter preceded him in death on August 15. Services were conducted at Central United Methodist church, Flint The Yelley funeral home made the funeral arrangements Clarence Moreland Clarence M. Moreland,' 75, 217 West Wilden Ave.. Goshen, father of Mrs. Fred (Ruth) Haviland, Syracuse, passed away Monday, Aug 23, at Goshen hospital where he was admitted on Sunday. Death was due to complications of a stroke. Mr Moreland retired from Pletcher Motors in 1966 where he was a body shop repairman. He was bom September 25,1900 in Wheeler and moved to Goshen in 1936. His parents were Harrison and Jessie Addaline (Wilson) Moreland He married the former Pauline Sowers in South Bend on October 21,1925 She passed away July 27, 1975 Other survivors besides Mrs Haviland are another daughter, Mrs Lowell (Amy) Holdread. Goshen, a son. Jerry, White Pigeon. Mich.; eight grandchildren; four greatgrandchildren; and a brother, Lloyd of Valparaiso. Maternal grandparents are Mr and Mrs Douglas Pilcher of Syracuse and Mr and Mrs Richard Chapman. Sr.. of Rome City are the paternal grandparents.
