Anna Trowbridge Mrs. Anna Jones Trowbridge, 96, r 1 Syracuse, died at 4:30 am. Tuesday, Aug. 17, of complications at Goshen hospital. Mrs. Trowbridge had lived most of her Kendallville. She was born January 24,1880, to Mary Jane Duff and Abram Milo Jones in Syracuse and on November 16, 1912, was married to George Thorton Trowbridge, who preceded her in death in 1953. At one time the family owned the Jones hotel in Syracuse She was a member of the Pythian sisters and a past chief of the Pythian Sisters of Kendallville. -- Surviving her are one daughter, Mrs. Roy (Mary) Miller; one son, - Byron Trowbridge; apd two grandchildren, all in Syracuse. ’ Friends may call at the Harris funeral home in Syracuse from 24 p.m and 7-9 p m Wednesday. Aug. 18. Rev Thomas Douglas will officiate at the funeral services Thursday, Aug. 19, at 10 am. Burial will be in Syracuse cemetery J. D. Leiter Funeral services were held Saturday. Aug 14. at the Titus funeral home in Warsaw for J. D Leiter, 75. of r 1 Silver Lake, father of Mrs Jessie (Maxine) Hughes of Syracuse Leiter, a farmer who had resided in Kosciusko county all of his life, died Thursday after suffering an apparent heart attack He was born to Mr and Mrs. Charles E. Leiter on July 11. in Claypool and was wed to Bessie Crist oh April 22. 1922 Surviving with his wife. Bessie, and daughter m Syracuse, are two other daughters. Mrs Harold (Phyllis) Forbes. Wabash. Mrs Richard < Norma) Moyer. Macy; three sons, Robert Dean Leiter, South. Bend. Richard Leiter, Warsaw, David Leiter. Etna Green. 25 grandchildren., and 10 great-grandchildren He was preceded m death by one sister Rev. Marvin Lowman officiated at the services and interment was in Oakwood cemetery

Mrs. John Linn Funeral services were conducted Friday, Aug. 13, far Mrs. John J. (Betty L.) Linn, 49, of 55942 Kathryn drive, Elkhart, at Wright-Yoder funeral home in Nappanee. She died of cancer Tuesday, Aug. 10. after a week in Elkhart hospital. Former employee of Seven Dwarfs nursery at Elkhart, Mrs. Linn was born in Milford to Cloyd and Grace (Blough) Hall on January 26. 1927 and was married to John J. Linn on July 16. 1950 Surviving with her husband, John, are one son, Richard M. Linn, at home; four brothers. Harlan E. Hall, W'hittier. Calif., Sheldon L. Hall, Elkhart. John G. Hall. Canoga Park. Calif., Virgil L Hall. Elkhart; and two sisters. Mrs. Isaac (Pauline) Krull. Nappanee, and Mrs. Henry (Mary Ellen) Hudon. Plymouth. Rev Richard Etner. pastor of the First Baptist church in Elkhart, officiated at the services and burial was in Union Center cemetery ’ Maria Middleton Death claimed Mana Ageda Middleton. 59. 516 Sandia. Santa Fe. on August 12. She was the wife of Lewis Maxwell Middleton. The family is well known in the Syracuse-Lake Wawasee area. are had been ill with cancer for over five years The deceased was born in Velarde. N, M., on March 2. 1917 to Fidel and Maria Luz Gutierrez In July 1936 she married Lewis Maxwell Middleton She had resided in Santa' Fe for the past 37 years and was a housewife and a member of the First Presbyterian church The family spent its summers in Syracuse with Mr Middleton forking with Ken Harkless at the Wawasee Boat Company for 20 different summers Surviving with the husband are a daughter. Anna Mane Jensen , a son. Lewis M Middleton. Jr.; four grandchildren, her mother. Mana Luz Gutierrez, and several sisters and brothers. Funeral services were held on August 15 in Santa Fe with Rev Eluid Cordova and Harold M. N M Alton Thorson Funeral services for Alton Irving Thorson, 61. 1932 North Kedzie boulevard. Chicago, were conducted early today at t,he Yoder-Culp funeral home in Syracuse Thorson died Monday. Aug. 16. in Hines Veterans hospital, Hines. 111. where he had been a patient for four months. He was born in Waupaca. Wise , on October 14. 1914 and resided there for 40 years of his life Thorson served in the European theatre during World War 11. Survivors include two daughters. Sharon I Ringler and Debra Robie, both of Syracuse, one brother. Philip Thorson. Gwinn. SINGREY, Courtney Chad Alan Mr. and Mrs. Chad Alan Singrey became the parents of a son, Courtney Chad Alan, on July 29, in Eisenhower Memorial hospital in Colorado Springs, Colo. The little boy weighed in at six pounds, nine ounces. Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Francis Mills. Sechrist Lake and Mr and Mrs. Gene Stoffel of Syracuse are paternal grandparents. DALE PLUMMER UNDERGOES SURGERY Mrs. Dale Plummer. Syracuse, underwent surgery Thursday, Aug. 12, at Mayo clinic in Rochester. Minn. She is reported in fine condition and a swift recovery is anticipated. She was released from the hospital on Saturday. With her in Minnesota were her husband. Monday, after he complained of back injuries sustained at 11:30, a.m. Sunday at his home. Mark Holcomb, employee at liberty Homes, Syracuse, was taken to the Goshen hospital in the emergency ambulance at 12:18 p.m. Friday after he was struck by a steel bar with a hook on it, rendering him unconscious. Transported to Goshen hospital after becoming ill at home were Nancy Hickman, Thursday morning and Hazel Vanderveer, Thursday evening. Kimberly Stidham, three, 206 E. Main street, Syracuse, was injured Monday when two bed railings fell on her legs. She was , transported to Goshen hospital. Shelly Smith, five, r 4 Syracuse, was taken to Goshen hospital with possible broken ribs after falling from a bunk bed early Monday morning.

The EMS transported a patient from home to the Plymouth hospital on August 11. Also on the 11th a patient was transported from Dewart Lake to Goshen hospital after becoming ill at home and the unit assisted Nappanee with an accident victim. On Monday EMS members transported a patient to the Goshen hospital after becoming ill at home.

Indiana State Police traffic and crime summary for July Indiana State Police at Ligonier post have announced the following end of the month report for the month of July on their activities in Kosciusko county. Hours worked — 829 . Miles patrolled — 14,924 \ Accidents investigated — 14 ) Arrests effected — 69 issued — 119 Motorists assisted 35 Lieutenant Edward C. Anweiler, district commander, reports that four troopers and one sergeant were responsible for the above work. The Ligonier district comprises the seven northeastern counties of the state and officers conducted 105 criminal investigations which resulted in the arrests of 33 persons. Four persons have been fatally injured in rural accidents in Kosciusko county during the seven months of 1976 as compared to eight persons during this same period in 1975. For the seven county district, 43 persons have lost their lives in traffic accidents as compared to 36 persons this same period last year. This is an increase of seven fatalities.
