Sunshine class has meeting The Sunshine class met Friday evening. July 23, at t|ie Wishing Well near North Webster. A pot luck supper was enjoyed by u.e 23 present. John Plank presided over the business meeting at which time new class officers were elected for the coming year. Later the group took a boat ride bn the Dixie. The committee of arrangements was Mr. and Mrs. Max Shively and Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Dausman. Sunday services at New Salem Rev. Chad Woodbum delivered "The Message Received as God’s Word" Sunday morning, Aug. 1. He used 1 Thessalonians 2:13-16 as his text. Doug Shively, representing the Missionary Tech team of Longview. Texas, showed slides and gave an up to date report of the work at Longview on Sunday evening Helping Hands meet Tuesday The Helping Hands met Tuesday afternoon. Aug. 3, at the World Missionary Press to help compile scripture booklets. Following the work, a short business meeting was conducted by Mrs John Plank, who also gave devotions and led in prayer. Mrs. Elmer Rapp served refreshments to those present. They were Mrs Plank. Mrs. Vere Wildman, Mrs. Max Shively, Mrs. Glen Morehouse. Mrs. Lydia Morehouse. Mrs. Albert Mathew. Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Carroll moved from Columbus, Ohio, to their mobile home at Winona Lake recently. Mr. Carroll plans to attend Grace Seminary this fall. Morehouse spent the week end in Fort Wayne and attended the open house Sunday afternoon for Mr. and Mrs. Rex Fultz. The Fultz’s were observing their 35th wedding anniversary. The open house was planned by their daughter. Linda, and held at the Lincolnshire Church of the Brethren. Mrs. Morehouse and Mrs. Fultz are sisters. Brammer, r 1 Syracuse, which was parked at the curb on West Main street in Syracuse at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 27. The mishap occurred as Robert Rex, 50, of Garrett and driver of a 1969 Oldsmobile, pulled from a parking spot on West Main and bumped the left rear fender of the Brammer vehicle.

Smith Walbridge Bicentennial salute to be held August 13
The 24th annual SmithWalbridge band camp final concert on Friday, Aug. 13, will conclude with a massed band of 350 students playing “America The Beautiful," to accompany a 20 minute Bicentennial fireworks display. Starting at 6:30 p.m. the program will include four band concerts. Junior high school students will be conducted by Raymond Leffin, Indianapolis and Jack Brainard, Brookdale junior high, Elkhart. According to Pressler, the tractor was last seen at approximately 4:30 p.m. Sunday, July 25, at his residence.
