Barbee Cottage Owners club elects new officers

New officers were elected dkinng the June 26 meeting of Barbee Cottage Owners Assoc. The group met at 8:00 a m at Barbee Conservation club building. The new officers are: Howard (Rusty) Koenigshof, president; Allan Hart, vice president; and Bob Zoll, secretary-treasurer. Jerry Eisaman was named to the board of directors to represent Big Barbee Lake. There was a lengthy discussion on ways to improve communications between property owners and the Cottage Owners Assoc

Barbee Hoosier club enjoys carry-in lunch

Barbee Hoosier club met July 7 with approximately 19 members present. Mrs Gladys Hoop, Fort Wayne, was a guest The group voted to have two members purchase their meal at each monthly carry-in dinner. Ruth Butler, president, asked members to bring handmade VBS underway at Barbee church Vacation Bible school is being held this week. July 12 through 16. at Barbee Community phurch. Haines, r 1 Leesburg, has been awarded a SI,OOO scholarship by the Indiana Association of Certified- Public Accountants Todd was one of six Indiana . students to receive the scholarship Recipients were chosen from students attending the accounting education conference held recently at Indiana Central university Scholarships were awarded on the basis of aptitude test scores, class rank and personal interviews. o Todd is president of Wawasee high school national honor society, a member of the football team, baseball team, lettermen's club and fellowship of Christian Athletes He is also a member of North Webster United Methodist church. Indiana State police report given for June

Indiana State Police at Ligonier Post have announced the following end of the month report for the month of June on their activities in Kosciusko county. Hours worked — 924 Miles patrolled — 15.511 Accidents investigated — 16 Arrests effected — 75 Warnings issued — 65 Motorists assisted — 30 Lieutenant Edward C. Anweiler. district commander, reports that four troopers and one sergeant were responsible for the above work. The Ligonier district comprises the seven northeastern counties of the state and officers conducted 94 criminal investigations which resulted in the arrests of 52 persons. Three persons have been fatally injured in rural accidents in Kosciusko county during the six months of 1976 as compared to five persons during this same period in 1975. For the seven county district. 33 persons have lost their lives in traffic accidents as compared to

19 persons this same period last year. This is an increase of 14 fatalities. July 14. and the public is invited to see this vital piece of equipment in use. “Jaws” is a huge metal apparatus. usually used in auto accidents, used to pry a crumpled vehicle apart to release trapped victims. The Warsaw ‘-jaws’’ was called into use a year ago at an accident near North Webster where a young girl was trapped.
