Glory Bam — k I (Continued from page 1) complaint concerning her attendance to Mrs. Rodgers. The board is empowered to revoke nursing licenses, suspend licenses or do nothing. Yotter has stated that she was with Mrs. Rodgers only as a friend, not a nurse. Allegedly Yotter delivered the baby, but other sources claim the child was not delivered. Yotter s license could only be suspended- after it has been proved that she did actually deliver the child. Autopsy Kosciusko coroner Kenneth Wyman has ordered an autopsy performed on Mrs. Rodgers, the results of which are expected this week. An official investigation into the deaths of Mrs. Rodgers and her Infant is to begin after receiving the coroner's report.

An investigation into the legal aspects of the Rodgers deaths was to have begun last Friday, July 9. The meeting with county police, prosecutors and coroner had to be cancelled when all of those involved could not attend. Kosciusko county prosecutor Steven Hearn and deputy prosecutor Michael Valentine are among officials investigating the death of Mrs. Rodgers and her child. When contacted Hearn would only say, "I just don't have any comment." Several authorities have said that there is nothing illegal about not seeking medical assistance during childbirth. And there is no state law pertaining to the case, commented the aide to the Indiana attorney general. Maternity deaths in local hospitals for a one year period were only 3 per cent. With an estimated congregation of the Faith Assembly of 1,000 25 women would deliver babies. With the deaths of two women and four babies in the assembly their mortality rate is 24 per cent. Melvin Greider, founder of the barn, has stated that the childbirth deaths are not related to the teachings of himself or Dr. Hobart Freeman, theologian at the barn. In an address last Sunday, July 11, to parishioners at the Glory Barn, Freeman said, "We I do not preach that you should have your babies at home, but the Bible tells us that when we're sick or need physical help not to call on the physician, but to call for the elders of the church."

approval from the state board of tax commissioners has been received and the board may advertise for bids awaiting final approval, reported corporation attorney Robert Reed. One bid was received fa fuel ail and gasoline by Pierceton Equipment company. Laketon. at 32.11 cents per gallon for fuel oil, with increases to be reflected in delivery’ price. Since the specifications were that only firm bids be submitted a motion was made and carried to reject the non valid bid. The board may now negotiate freely on the open market for gasoline and oil deliveries. A change order for the track surface at Wawasee high school has resulted in an additional charge of $6,432.90 on the bid by Reith Riley of $74,150 the low bid. With the additional charge the bid is still approximately SIO,OOO less than the other bids. The board also approved several policy decisions, but tabled any deliberations on one concerning the procedures for administering oral rniedication. Other policies approved were non-certified personnel, which was updated and clarified; school discipline and maternity leaves, bringing them in compliance with the latest state laws; school entrance of first grade and kindergarten students, to permit them to continue in the grade previously in if one semester has been completed in that grade, removing the determination by age only; and testing programs and federal laws on discrimination, so one procedure instead of the previous two, is to be used for due process of grievances. A request for approval of a tempaary contract for Constance Bailey, at Milford elementary, was approved by the board. Bailey will replace Betty Lambert who granted a child bearing leave at the last meeting. Also approved by the board was the reading of the minutes from meetings held on June 8. June 15. June 22 and July 6. The minutes were also signed by the board members. The financial report as of June 30. 1976 was presented by president Bill Little. After reviewing the claims, they were unanimously approved by the board. Questions on reports to the board will be heard at the next regular meeting in August. GREMLINS WERE at work again last week as we incorrectly listed Esther Charlton’s son as Don instead of Douglas. We discovered the gremlins had been at work but alas too late to make the change. Happy Birthday wishes go to Douglas Charlton who is one-half century young! TELEPHONE OFFICIALS are tracing down an anonymous call made to a number of members of a prominent Milford family Sunday night. The caller reported one member of the family had suffered a stroke, sending them to his home to see if it were really true. A warped idea of a joke, it would appear. SARAH SLABAVGH is the lucky one. She has four handsome young men vying for the position of No. 1 son-in-law in her life. They 'are Don Boyd of Hollywood. Fla.; Roger Graff of Fort Wayne; John Yeater of Nappanee; and Ron Baumgartner of Milford. The position alternates.' sometimes rapidly, depending on the latest ruse these enterprising men come up with. When Boyd came to Milford a week ago with his wife Dottie for a July vacation, he surprised them all with a T-shirt with a large color picture of Sarah on the front. For the time being, at least, Boyd is No. 1 with Sarah! AFTER WATCHING the progress at the drug store we thing we have finally figured the painting out Have you?
