<• Oscar Madison is divorced, broke and sloppy, and is alive and well at the Enchanted' Hills Playhouse. Felix Ungar, his best friend, is separated from his wife and kids, is disgustingly neat and thrifty. He is living with Oscar. Oscar and Felix are the Odd Couple. “The Odd Couple,” one of Neil Simon's greatest comedy hits, opens this Wednesday, July 14, at the Enchanted Hills Playhouse and continues to run through Saturday. July 17, and again next week. July 21 through 24. The hilarious play, on which the television series of the same name is based, is the third production of the season at the playhouse, and marks the halfway point of the summer of five major plays and musicals. In the show, Felix moves in with Oscar on the night after his separation from his wife and the result is an evening of comedy for the playgoer. Add two British sisters by the name of Pigeon (that’s as in “Coo-Coo” pigeon, not Walter) who want to bundle Felix up and “take care of the poor, sweet man;< and you’ve got a Neil, Simon smash. xDoug Stark. executive producer-director of the Enchanted Hills Playhouse, portrays Oscar, the happy-go-lucky-slob who borrows money from his buddies to play poker because he needs money. Gary Smiley, complete with apron and cooking ladle, plays the role of Felix Ungar, the maticulously neat, depressed, and sympathetic opposite of Oscar.
