ginning at 6:30 p.m., report that to date they have commitments for 13 high school bands along with floats and other marching units of well over 125 entries. This should be a colorful spectacular and will disband at the festival grounds where at 7:30 the crowd will be entertained in the arena by one of the best DixieLand Bands provided by the South Bend Federation of Musicians and the Music Performance Trust fund. At 8 p.m. the opening ceremonies will take

place and the trophies and other awards will be awarded to the winners in the parade. On Thursday evening beginning at 8:15 the United States Steel Corporation of Gary will provide the entertainment in the arena when they will present the "Swing Vochestra” a group of 23 singers and 16 instrumentalists who have performed all over the country. This will be a two hour show and is all free to the public Friday and Saturday evenings the ever popular horse pulling contests will be the grandstand attractions with the light weight class pulling on Friday night, 3300 pounds and under, and the heavy weight class on Saturday evening There will be cash prizes paying down 10 places plus a sportsmanship award. Saturday afternoon will be the time for the kiddies at the Bremen Firemens Festival when there will contests of all kinds for all ages and the Luehr’s Ideal Rides will reduce all the rides on the Midway from I p.m. to 5 p m Sunday, July 4th will be Bremen’s Bicentennial Day beginning with a community wide church service beginning at 11 a m. and continuing the balance of the afternoon and evening with varied activities every hour until the 200 Birthday Celebration beginning at 9 p.m. The Firemen's festival will conclude with a full program on Monday July 5, beginning at 10:30 with the spectacular firemen’s water ball contests with water ball teams from all over the state of Indiana and Northern Michigan participating At 4 p.m. the Bremen Kiwanis club will again have their annual fish fry which has become very popular over the years. At 2:30 and again at 8 p.m. Charlie Myrick, one of the rarest of all magicians and conjuers in the world today, will present his show in the grandstand. From his performance at the age of nine, to his grand illusion show of today, Charlie Myrick presents the best of magic and escapes. In a Bicentennial salute. Charlie will present the best of Harry Houdini by attempting the greatest escape of all time — "The Chinese Water Torture Cell" the mystery that cost Houdini his life. Solution
