They were married June 19, 1916 at Saint Joseph. Mich. They have three daughters. Mrs. Carl (Paulene) Yoder of Goshen. Miss Donna Miller and Mrs. Neal (Arlene) Cory, both of Milford. A son Edward is deceased. They have nine grandchildren and 18 greatgrandchildren. The family is planning a dinner for them in the evening. June 19.
Psi lotas to hold 73d annual confab
Psi lota Xi sorority will hold its 73d annual convention on June 1719 at the Olympic hotel in Seattle. Wash Mrs Phil (Linda) Hoy and Mrs Ron (Sally) Gillum will be official delegates from the Theta Sigma chapter of North Webster. .Mrs. Gilbert (Mary) Waltz of the chapter will also be attending The sorority is well-known throughout the midwest and now in the Pacific northwest, as a generous and dedicated organization whose members raise thousands of dollars each year for such charitable purposes as speech and hearing clinics, epilepsy foundation, scholarships for young people in the field of speech and hearing, as well as the arts Discover ’76 The theme "Discover ’76" has been chosen by Theta Phi chapter, Federal Way. Gamma Alpha, will preside at the convention which opens on Friday. Friday evening, a boat ride will be taken to Tillicum Village salmon bake on Blake Island in Puget Sound. Following awards presentations at the “Discover Our Present’’ luncheon, Mrs. J. Frank Shively. Theta chapter, New Castle, will be installed as the new national president for 1976-77 Her chapter will honor her at a reception Saturday evening, prior to the dinner This is the first convention in the history of Psi lota Xi to include programming for the husbands of members, and members have been encouraged to plan their vacation around the convention, take their entire families and participating in preand post- convention tours of Hawaii and Alaska.
Goodwill club meets at House of Friendship
Members of the Goodwill Extension Homemakers club met last Wednesday afternoon at the House of Friendship south of Syracuse with Mrs. Robert Busch as hostess The meeting was opened with singing of “America, the Beautiful" m unison and "God Be With You.” the song of the month, both led by Mrs. Eldred Mabie Mrs Burton Butt led in the Past Presidents Parley meets at Iva Coy home The Past Presidents unit of Ancil Geiger unit 226 met with Iva Coy at Lake Tippecanoe on Wednesday, June 9 President Glennis Stump presided Secretary-treasurer Mary Geller read the minutes and gave the treasurer’s report Mrs Stump gave a report on the district meeting held June 9 at Pierceton, The August meeting will be a salad bar at Mrs Stump’s with the gold star mothers invited A total of 13 members and guest Hilda Ruch answered roll call Ice cream sodas and cookies were served

Bethany Homemakers install officers Members of the Bethany Homemakers club met last Thursday. June 10, for an all-day meeting in the home of Mrs. Guy Method at New Paris. Assisting the hostess was Mrs. Wayne Weybright. An installation of officers for 1976-77 was held with Mrs. Herbert Blue serving as installing officer. The following were installed: President — Mrs. James Kitson Vice President — Mrs. Guy Method Secretary — Mrs. Darrell Umbower Treasurer — Mrs. Dorothy Widner Reporter — Mrs. Burdette Tarman Historian — Mrs. Hazel Kline A carry-in dinner was enjoyed at the noon hour. Table grace was given by Mrs. Method. Mrs. Method opened the meeting with the club creed and the song of the month. Hazel Kline gave devotions on the 121st Psalm. The 19 members present told of the first week of their marriage for roll call Health and safety was given by Mrs. Ellis Eby who discussed vision of school children. Mrs. Ada Gingerich gave the lesson on personal adjustment after children leave home. Cards were signed for members who are ill. The next meeting will be July 8 with Mrs. Widner at her Fish Lake, Mich.; cottage. It will be a picnic.

Miss Diane Marie Davis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Davis of Valparaiso and James R. Wogomon. son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Wogomon, were united in marriage May 23 at 6 p.m in the United Salem Church of Wanatah by Rev. Bertsch. Organza Gown The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore an organza gown accented with Chantilly lace. The lace traced the high neckline, long fitted sleeves and completely encircled the skirt that extended into a chapel length train. She chose an elbow length mini-mantilla to compliment her gown and carried a bouquet of white roses and baby breath. 'Die bride’s sister Judy Pozil of Wanatah was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Rebecca Davis (rs Union Mills, sister-in-law of the bride; Jeanine Choker of Valparaiso, cousin of the brides Diane Gingerich of Bloomingdale, 01., and Julie Pozil of Wanatah, niece of the bride. The bridegroom graduated from South Bend college of commerce and is self employed at the Turtle Bay Mobile Home Park in Syracuse. Debra Miller is initiate The Indiana university Bloomington chapter of Phi Eta Sigma, national scholastic honor society for college freshmen, has announced the name of Debra Ann Miller, Syracuse, in their spring initiates. Membership in Phi Eta Sigma was opened to women for the first time this spring. The IU chapter is one of the largest of the 175 chapters in the United States.
Susan K. Nyce is honored at bridal shower A bridal shower was given June 13, at 1:30 p.m. in honor of Susan K. Nyce in the Marian Haab residence west of Milford on the Orn road. Decorations throughout the home were in honor of the bride-to-be. The center piece for the gift table was a sprinkling can filled with buttered mints and mixed nuts. Games were enjoyed by the guests and those winning gifts gave them to the honored guest. She then opened her personal gifts. Refreshments of ham salad and cheese sandwiches, iced tea and coffee were served. Assisting the hostess were Betty Miller of Milford, her daughter Georgia L. Beechy and granddaughter Betty of Evansport, Ohio. Those present were mothers of the prospective bride and bridegroom. Betty Nyce and Nancy Peterson; Partha Miller, Berry Hare, Jane Schultz, Marge Kaiser, Sandy Miller and Glennis Stump, all and Milford; Ellen Moots, Iva Scott and Grace Eyer, all of Syracuse; and Sally Wagner and Cheryl Hartter of Warsaw. Land 0' Lakes golf results announced The annual Land O’Lakes Women’s Golf tournament was held Tuesday, June 15, with 104 ladies participating. Results are as follows: Low gross in the flight A division was Joan Gray, Sandra Dicken and Barbara Kay. Vereen Kelly, Bert Butterbaugh and Kay Schubert captured low net in the A group. Low putts were turned in by Jackie Wortinger, June Auer and Marge Newcomer in the group. In the flight B group, Mary Lee, Midge Konkle and Sandy Walgamuth scored low gross Low net honors went to Helen Creighton, Lois Fleckenstein and Betty Kline. Low putts were turned in by Mildred Lotter, Margie Purdum and Gloria Stoffel. For flight C the low gross group was Ruby Paul, Betty Nyce and Vivian Sadler. Ruth Emerick, Helen Miller and Jody Mosbaugh scored low net and Amber Christiansen, Jo Waltz and June Reed turned in low putts. Shirley Sadler. Mary Jane Knudsen and Bea Crews scored low gross in the flight D division. Low net leaders were Dora Nelson, Jean Rickel and Shirley Clay. Low putters in the group were Jean Gotshall, Denise Simon and Hank Curtis. Following play, a buffet luncheon was served in Bicentennial surroundings. Golf visors of red, white and blue were given as favors. Hanging baskets by Ginny Lamley were given as door prizes. Ginny Lamley was chairman of the tournament, assisted by club president B. J. Prajedes Kelly Carvajal and Carl L. Gay were united in marriage on May 22 at 3:30 p.m. in a lawn wedding at the home of the bride’s parents. Mr. and Mrs. Juan M. Carvajal (rs Milford. The bridegroom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Cecil A. Steele of Syracuse. C. H. Owens of the''Milford United Methodist church officiated, assisted by a cousin of the bride. Rev. William Olivarez of Saginaw, Mich. Mrs. Fred Weisser was the organist. The bride wore a satin gown from Mexico trimmed with satin ribbons interlaced in lace appliques. Her long train was illusion netting trimmed with lace. A beaded headpiece held her shoulder length veil handmade by her mother. Miss Bea Carvajal, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor. Mr. and Mrs. Philip Fawley celebrate 25th anniversary
Mr. and Mrs Philip K. Fawley, 612 South Lake street. Syracuse, will be celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary on June 17. Mr. Fawley has taught school for 27 years, five of which were in Leesburg where he met the former Evelyn PdLnd. whom he married June 17, and 22 years at Syracuse. Mrs. Fawley has been the bookkeeper for the school corporation for 17 years. They are the parents of a daughter, Nancy, Fort Wayne. No open house is planned, but several small parties will be hosted by family members and friends.
