DANIEL L. STEPHAN Daniel Stephan president of Beaty firm Daniel L. Stephan was recently elected president of Beaty Associates, Inc., Realtors, with its base of operation in Syracuse and the lake areas of Kosciusko county. The Stephans reside on the south shore of Lake Wawasee with their infant son, “D.J.” Juan Hernandez is booked on five charges Bond was set at $l5O at County court for Juan F. Hernandez, 20, Milford, who was booked at the county jail in Warsaw last Saturday on five different charges. The charges were driving while under influence of intoxicating beverages, illegal consumption, illegal transportation and illegal possession of alcoholic beverages and of operating on a false registration. Hernandez was spotted by Warsaw city patrolman Doug Brumfield tailgating another vehicle while southbound on SR 15 near the Anderson Greenhouse Hernandez also ran off the road three times then passed the other car at a high rate of speed. He continued on towards town at a speed in excess of 60 mph. City patrolman Jerry Laurien joined in the pursuit after Hernandez passed his police car. Hernandez was stopped at the intersection of Detroit and Center streets. Engine stolen from a parked fertilizer tank A three or 34 hp gasoline engine from a fertilizer tank was stolen Tuesday. June 8. Ray Darr of Syracuse, who reported the theft, said the vehicle was parked near the Syracuse-Webster road. Darr said a wrench was used to loosen the bolts of the Briggs and Stratton, aqua blue engine.

Manuel Rodriguez, Milford, is being held in the county jail after he was arrested last Wednesday when he attempted an armed robbery at the Colonial Oil station, North Detroit St., Warsaw.
