Mich., on May 15-16. With two dams to Portage and seven small bridges and logs to get over, the course closely resembles the frontier stream of the past century. Also, it is the only canoe race in the country that goes through a 200-foot long tunnel. Based on the number of early entries received, it appears that the number of contestants will double last years’ count, according to J. M. Dellinger, chairman of the race committee. More than SSOO in trophies in the Bicentennial motif will be given to the winners of the first three places in each division.
