Dividends paid by Albion production credit association Checks and U. S. postage stamps totaling $95,612.92 are now in the hands of the class A stockholders and borrowers in the Albion Production Credit Association. This amount represents a six per cent dividend on class A stock outstanding on December 31, 1975, plus 20 per cent of the association's refund to borrowers of interest paid during this same period. Pursuant to information given to the stockholders at their 42 annual meeting last September and action by the board of directors at their December meeting. $272,945 of the patronage refund is being retained in the association , temporarily as a part of the capital structure to increase its I net worth for debt to capital ratios necessary for obtaining funds on the open money market. The association senes the short term agricultural credit needs of farmers with full time offices in Allen. DeKalb, Elkhart, Kosciusko, LaGrange, Noble. Steuben and Whitley counties. Weldon May, president of the association reports that while some costs of production may be slightly lower in 1976 than last year, the overall cost of farming continues to increase annually. Lincoln Booth of Orland serves as chairman of the board; J. Merlin Hindbaugh, Golumbia City, vice chairman; Robert Reed. Wolcottville; Don Beer, Milford; and W. Alan Scranage of Ashley make up the five man board elected by the farmer stockholders. I 1 NEW STORES MANAGER — Larry Kinsey, above, has been named manager of the Augsburger Food Palace stores at Syracuse and North Webster, according to John Augsburger, vice president of Augsburgers Food Palaces, Inc. He has been with the firm five years. Kinsey and his wife Linda. 1 residents of North Webster, have a daughter Rhonda. 10, a fourth grader in the North Webster elementary school. Banquet honors Grace college’s NC membership
WINONA LAKE - Dr. Herman A. Hoyt, president, said thank you at a Friday night banquet at the Winona Hotel to all those who played a part in Grace college reaching a level of excellence that is now recognized by' the North Central Association of Colleges as worthy of membership in that academic body. In attendance were more than 250 members of the president’s committee, representatives of the service clubs in the county and the faculty and staff at Grace The full regional accreditation was announced on March 31 byNorth Central, culminating a 20year quest. Dr. Hoyt told those present that he is grateful that in the good providence of God he was permitted to see this goal achieved before passing on the direction of the school to my successors this fall. President since 1962. he will become chancellor on September 1. "We must continue to press forward with self-improvement to meet future evaluations. The process of self-improvement will continue in the two areas of studygiven the rating of excellence — the Word of God and the World of God,” he stated. Congratulatory responses were given by Randy Maxson, president, student body; Ronald Kinley, president.' alumni association; Lawrence Castaldi. chairman, president’s committee and Dr. Kenneth B. Ashman, chairman, board of trustees, Grace schools. Castaldi recognized the representatives of local and county service clubs present and in their behalf presented a beautiful plaque to Grace college in “recognition of receiving accreditation by North Central on March 31, 1976.” In accepting the plaque Dr. Hoyt commented that “we are grateful for the community support we receive especially from the service clubs and I thank all of you for the recognition." Castaldi also spoke of community involvement. He stressed the importance of Grace college and noted that a new science center is under construction. The president's committee, composed of community leaders, will soon begin a fund raising effort in the community with a goal of $250.00 in support of the project, he stated. Dr. Vance A. Yoder, academic dean, one of the key leaders in seeking accreditation, presided at the banquet. A sophomore ensemble under the direction of professor Donald Ogden presented special music. Dr. John J. Davis, executive vice president-elect, gave the invocation and the benediction was by Dr. Homer A. Kent, Jr., president-elect. Cow killed in accident A car driven by Nicolas Hernandez. 31. Milford, struck and killed an Angus cow near New Pans. Wednesday. April 7. The owner of the cow was Dean Everest of New Paris. Hernandez was driving north on CR 23 en route to work in New Paris, when the cow ran into the path of his car The driver escaped injury, but damage to the car was estimated at S3OO. The cow was valued at S7OO
