Poster contest winners
The Women’s Christian Temperance Union recently sponsored a poster contest for the Milford junior high art students The union reported that 120 posters were entered in the contest. These were judged during the spring school fP •■„ v - ' PLAN JULY WEDDING - The engagement of Carolyn K. Long and Joseph A. Schoettmer has been announced. The bride-elect is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Long of r 3 box Ml Syracuse and the bridegroom-elect is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard B. Schoettmer of r 3 box 240 Greensburg. A graduate of Wawasee high school and Indiana State university, the future Mrs. Schoettmer is a member of the Rural Youth organization and is a substitute teacher. Her fiance is also a member of the Rural Youth. He is a graduate of North Decatur high school and is a farmer. The couple is planning to wed at 2:30 p.m. on July 24 in the North Webster United Methodist church.

Kay Jetmore and Vicki Ryman of Syracuse tied for blue ribbon honors (first place) in miscellaneous craft with their China Painting Bicentennial theme and Macrame exhibits at the third annual Hobby Show sponsored by the Lakeland Kiwanis club The show was held at Wawasee high school on April 1 ami 2 John Brewef of Syracuse and Dave Martin of Milford tied for second place and Helen Harris of Warsaw was a third place winner in Miscellaneous craft. April shower for Diane Wuthrieh The ladies of the Bethel Church of the Brethren in Milford hosted a shower for Miss Diane Wuthrich on Thursday night. April 1, in the church social rooms. The committee for the event was Mrs. Allen (Cheryl) Brunjes. Mrs. Terry’ .Marti) Thompson and Mrs. Delbert (Bertha) Monevheffer. Miss Wuthrich will be married on May 1 at the church to Neil Olson of Nappanee. The devotions for the evening were presented by Mrs. Thompson and several fun games were played before the gifts were opened. Winners in the games turned their prizes over to Miss Wuthrich. Mrs. Larry Mast assisted her sister at the gift table. Her niece. Dawn Richter and her cousin, Melissa Snider, helped display the gifts. Twenty-two women and girls enjoyed the event with Miss Wuthrich. Decorations were in an April shower theme with yellow for the color of streamers and bows. Refreshments were served by the hostesses at the close of the evening. Methodist Church Women meet in Anglemeyer home Nine members of* the United Methodist church women of Saint Andrew’s church met last Thursday in the home of Mrs. Hubert Anglemeyer. Symbols of Easter was the theme and topic of the talk given by Mrs. Cleo Schoeff. Mrs. Anglemeyer had devotions. Dessert and coffee concluded the afternoon meeting.

Scheuer, Williams vows are exchanged in Saint Andrew’s
Mrs. Jane Ann Scheuer and John Reginald Williams, both of Syracuse, were united in marriage at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 2, in Saint Andrew’s United Methodist church at Syracuse. Rev. Marvin Jones, pastor of the church, officiated for the service. Mrs. Georgia Buster and Mrs. Mary Williams, both of Syracuse and mothers of the couple, served as attendants. A reception immediately Ladybugs are entertained by Mrs. Don Dodds The Ladybugs March 22 meeting was hosted by Mrs. Don Dodds in her home. A total of 16 members were present. It was announced that Linda Morris and Shelly Moore are now members of the Ladybugs. Mrs. Bradley Klingaman read the thought of the month and Mrs. Ed Harper won the door prize. Residents of Strawberry Village nursing home, Ligonier, chosen to be adopted by the Ladybugs are Ruby Olinghouse and Mae Keneer. Plans were finalized on the bake sale to be held by the Ladybugs at Cromwell State Bank on April 3 at 9 a m. until noon. Under new business, election of officers for the 1976-1977 club year was held. Mrs. Robert (Shirley) Fidler was the hostess. The group finalized plans for the square dance, open to the public, on April 10 in the Camelot Hall in North Webster. The “Jim Reed Trio” will provide the evening’s music. All proceeds from the dance will go to the new Kosciusko county hospital. The next meeting of the sorority will be April 26 at the Camelot Hall in North Webster. W J| Mm 1 V ENGAGED — Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Sarber of r 1 Mentone announce the engagement of their daughter, Luanna Jo, to Donald L. Keim, son of Mrs. J, Olen Keim of 301 West Main. Syracuse, and the late Mr. Keim. A graduate of Mentone high school, the future bride is employed as a registered nurse at Memorial hospital. South Bend. Her fiance is graduated from Syracuse high school and employed by Saint Joseph Valley Bank in Elkhart. An October 9 wedding is planned.
