Syracuse churches lay plans for their Holy Week services
Following are the Holy Week services planned at the several churches in the Syracuse community: f Church of God Pastor Thomas Douglas of the Syracuse Church of God will be holding Holy Week services each night, Monday through Sunday, at 7:30 o'clock with the ordinance service to be on Thursday evening Saint Andrew's C. M. HolV communion and Tenebrae service at Saint Andrew's United Methodist church will be held on Thursday evening. All Saints Church Theßfc Rev William Sheridan, bishop of the diocese of northern Indiana, will make his annual visitation to All Saints Episcopal church on April 10-11. He will meet with the congregation on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. for a carry-in supper and an informal exchange of ideas. During the Palm Sunday service the (bishop will also dedicate membrial gifts given in the memory of Jay A. Rigdon, Karl K. McGarvey and George and Ruth Xariders. The gifts ctmsist of a bishop's chair, a matching Prie pieu, and a velvet dossajl hanging. After the eucharist. the bishop will greet the new confirmands. their families and friends and the congregation (at a coffee hour at the bishop wjtite house. During Hoi) Week observances the holy eijcharist will be celebrated at All Saints on Monday. Tuesday and Wednesday at 81 a m. On Maundy Thursday, the eucharist will be at 6 p.m.. followed with a carry-in and lenten program. The Good Friday rite of the church will bj? held at 10 a.m. and members are also urged to attend the community service at the Church of God from 1-2 p.m. In the evening. All Saints service at 7 will be the stations of the cross. On Holy Saturday, the lighting of ihe Paschal candle, marking officially the end of lent.

The Words from the Cross to be theme of unity services
The Words from the Cross will be the theme of the union Holy Week services at Milford. The services will begin on Sunday, April 11. The services will be held at 7:30 nightly and will be in the First Brethren church. On Palm Sunday evening the program will be “Forgiveness” from Luke 23:34 with Rev. Richard Boys of the host church delivering the message. Monday's sermon title will be "Pardon” from Luke 23:39-43 with Father John Korchsmar of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic church delivering the message. Rev. Allen Holmes, pastor of the Cromwell United Methodist church, has announced that on April 1 a Dial-A-Devotion ministry was started by their church for the surrounding communities. Dial-A-Devotion will consist of a three minute taped devotional which will be changed each morning by 9:30.
