Garden club took a number of awards at the state convention last week at Clarksville. Victor Virgil on erosion control panel at workshop Victor Virgil area extension agent, took part in a panel discussion concerning the proposal for erosion and sediment control, at the Kosciusko Soil and Water Conservation workship at Honeywell Center, Wabash. Other members on the panel were Harold Wilson. Miami county; Ralph Settle. Wells; and Melvin Boyer, Wabash. Supervisors attending the meeting were Myron Metzger, Perry Hathaway. Bob Norris. Kenneth Dickey, Clarence Meinert. Virgil, Wilson. Marguerite Hoerr and Linda Hathaway. Area Committees were appointed. Kosciusko and Elkhart SWCD’s were appointed to the water resources committee The workshop was attended by representatives from 13 counties in northeastern Indiana. Leesburg man hits two parked cars Mark J. Hamman. 21, Leesburg, lost control of his car while traveling east on CR 325E and hit two parked cars. The incident happened Saturday, March 20, and Hamman was arrested on charges of driving under the influence of intoxicating beverages and public intoxication. Owners of the parked cars were Dave Hatfield and Emma Ladig. Estimated damages to the vehicles were $l5O to Harfield’s car. S3OO to Ladig’s car and SBOO to Hamman’s car. Paul Snyder Completes training Navy seaman recruit Paul F. Snyder, son of Mr. and Mrs. Maurice R. Snyder of 118 West Portland, Syracuse, has graduated from recruit training at the naval training center. Great Lakes, 111.
