I The first call was at 5 a.nrv and was a false alarm at Chore Time Equipment. The second call came at 12:50 p.m. and was the first of three grass fires extinguished during the afternoon. It was near the home of Thelma Frushouer east of Milford. The second grass fire, was at Francis Bender's northwest of town at 2:50. While firemen were at that location a second call was received at 3:05 p.m. calling them to the Maurice Beer property south of town where another grass fire was blazing.

Inter-faith group has been formed
At the Prayer and Share dinner held in January at Saint Martin dePorres Catholic church. Syracuse, 23 persons from various churches represented there, indicated they would be interested in the formation of an Inter-faith Share organization of layman. First Meeting This new group met for the first time on Sunday, Feb. 29. at Saint Martin’s. Father Eugene Zimmerman of the Catholic church and Rev. David Hyndman of All Saints Episcopal church were asked by the Syracuse-Wawasee Ministerial association to assist the group. The lay persons will be working with the Ministerial association and concerned persons of the community. The aim is to give assistance when there is a need in the community i Persons participating in this first meeting were Mr. and Mrs.

motorcycle collision about onehalf mile south of North Webster near the Hook drug store entrance last Wednesday. County officer Tom Kitch reported Mock was riding his motorcycle south on Indiana 13 and attempting to make a turn into the drug store parking lot when his cycle was struck from behind by a motorcycle operated by Brian L. Gerard. 17, Warsaw. Damage was set at S3OO to the Mock cycle and $350 to the Gerard vehicle owned by Meredith Sensibaugh of Warsaw. Gerard sustained abrasions to the arms and back in the mishap and was treated at Murphy Medical center. LAKELAND LOCAL Mr. and Mrs. Doug Pilcher, Syracuse, returned Wednesday, Feb. 25, from a 2 l i week vacation in the south. They spent one week with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Mason in Dearfield Beach, Fla., two days in Cocoa Beach, Fla. fishing in . , the Atlantic, and two nights in the Bahamas at Freeport.
