Mrs. Miller entertains Backwater Friends club
Mrs Basil Miller was hostess for the recent meeting of Backwater Friends home Extension club. Mrs. Esther Rider assisted the hostess. Dixie Likens, vice president, opened the meeting with the pledge to the American flag and the home ec creed. Devotions were given by Mrs Rider. Anniversary meeting held by Efficient Homemakers

She was later released to her parents.
1976 schedule announced for Beer school
Beer’s professional school of real estate has announced the 1976 schedule of classes for locations in the northern half of Indiana. The school invites area persons to become real estate brokers with “our proven ’4-E formula* experience, expertise, education and enthusiasm.” The school offers a program of continuing education designed as an intensive and comprehensive course to prepare its students to take and pass the Indiana real estate broker’s exam and to obtain their license. The course runs for eight weeks, on the same night each week, for a three-hour block from 7 to 10 p.m. except the January classes which will run for seven weeks from 6:30 to 10 p.m. due to the holiday conflicts

The courses will be offered three times in 1976 to coincide with the immediate several weeks prior to each trf the three state exams given in Indianapolis. The dates of the state exams are tentatively set for February 24, July 13 and September 21. Consequently, the starting dates for the courses would be the first week in January, the second week in May and the third week in July. The staff follows: Dr. Kenneth Beer is the administrative director of the school. He is a former high school teacher and administrator as well as a college instructor and has had wide experience in the adult and vocational education fields. His wife Lynn is currently a
public school teacher. She was vital in the founding of the school and is the staff math consultant. Rich Stoller Was a former teacher and is now president of Horizons Unlimited in Syracuse. He has been successful in the real estate business as a builder, developer and broker. Andrea Stoller is also a former public school teacher. She is now an officer of Horizons Unlimited and is active in the business with her husband. Classes for January will be offered in the South Bend area. Fort Wayne area. Warsaw area and the Anderson-Muncie area if a minimum of 10 students are enrolled. The May and July classes will be offered in the above locations as well as the Lafayette area and

Kills deer with car Mrs. Hubert Kirkdorfer of r 4 Syracuse was southbound on CR 33 near CR 133 in Elkhart county at 5:40 p.m. Sunday when a deer bounded onto the roadway in front of her auto. She told county officers who investigated that she was unable to miss the animal which was killed due to impact. Damage to the Kirkdorfer car was estimated at S2OO.
Citizens band radio stolen from truck
Elkhart county officers investigated the theft of a citizens band radio from a locked truck parked at the Theo Thomas residence on the ElkhartKosciusko county line road Tape deck and tapes stolen Allen Tehan of Precision Automotive on Chicago street in Syracuse reported to Syracuse police Monday afternoon of a tape deck and eight track tapes being taken from a van. Entry was gained through the rear doors of the vehicle.

He had not placed in the live show judging held on November 6.
