Wawasee music concert Tuesday
The first Wawasee music concert at the school year will be presented Tuesday, Dec, 2, at 7:30 pm in the high school auditorium The program is entitled “Christmas Moods” and will range in variety from sacred selections to contemporary secular numbers The concert will feature songs by the concert, cadet and women's choirs, full concert orchestra, jazz band, swing choir and a male chorus. Students of the choral and instrumental departments have spent much time during the past months preparing for the first Christmas concert to be held in the auditorium Craig Koble has again designed the program cover as well as decorated the stage Karen Glick, mother and student this year. has choreographed a dance to be used with the orchestra. Mrs. Lillian Miller, student teacher from Manchester college, has given special assistance to the swing choir and will direct some of the choral numbers Bruce Clark and John Naab are in charge of lighting Boys from cadet and concert choirs will

Kathi Goins of Syrocirsr—”'wins Fithian essay contest
Kathi Goins of Syracuse, a student at Wawasee high school, was one of four students named winners of an essay contest sponsored by Congressman Floyd Fithian. The essay was on the subject of what kind of a job a congressman should do. Kathi's essay was selected from entries submitted by 12 participating high schools in the second district. Each of the winners were contacted by Fithian by telephone and invited to spend a day traveling through die second district with him. ‘‘l want them to get a chance to see first hand the day to day work of
an elected representative.” Fithian explained. Public officials from throughout northern assisted in preliminary judging. Among the judges were Porter county commissioner, Walter Campbell; Starke county circuit judge, Marvin McLaughlin; Kosciusko county sheriff, John Hammersley; Porter county sheriff, Jack Bradshaw; Pulaski county prosecuting attorney, Dan Tankersley; and Evelyn Finnstrom. Porter county voter registration coordinator. Final judging was done anonymously so that judges would not know whose entries they were reading.
Robert J. Mauzy attends seminar Robert J. Mauzy of Syracuse attended the 23d annual tax and management seminar of the Indiana Society of Public Accountants. The three day meeting was held at the Atkinson hotel, Indianapolis from November 1921, 1975 The sessions were devoted to the study of new developments in federal, state and local taxation. Special attention was given to changes in the laws. In addition to taxation, various aspects of practice management and management consulting were considered. Participants are members of the Indiana Society of Public Accountants, a state-wide
organization of licensed public accountants, their employees and other licensed or certified public accountants. The 23d annual tax and management seminar was designed to fulfill the practitioner’s duty to keep sharp the tools he actually uses in the public accounting business. Approximately 400 public accountants from all points of the state attended this session. County health nurse speaks at meeting Kosciusko county health nurse Barbara Clouse was a speaker at the Monday night meeting of the
Lakeland Concerned Citizens Drug education committee meeting at Wawasee high school. She revealed startling facts, county wise, on child abuse and venereal diseases, all based on experiences she had been involved in as a health nurse. Officers Re-elected to office for the ensuing year were: President — Mrs. William T. Jones, Jr. Vice [resident — John Glon Secretary — Mrs. Steve Bartow Elected as treasurer, replacing John Naab, was Douglas Bowser. Mrs. Jones urged all adults within the school corporation to return the survey forms received in the mail. The next regular meeting has been set for January 26 at the high school.
