A North Webster Community Thanksgiving service will be held November 26 at 7 p.m. at North Barbee Busy Bees plan activities Christmas activities were planned during the November 14 meeting of Barbee Busy Bees home extension club. "Hunger Rock-A-Thon" to start The youth of North Webster Church of God will participate in a “Hunger Rock-A-Thon’' beginning at 10:30 p.m. on November 28. The event will continue into Saturday as long as anyone can stay awake or as long as there are sponsors. The young people will rock in rocking chairs for 50 cents an hour. Chicago, will address the members of the Lakeland Kiwanis dub in North Webster at their regular breakfast meeting on December 1. Sherman Bry ant, club president and A. C. Underwood. Bicentennial chairman, have announced that wives and guests of Kiwanians are invited to this Bicentennial program. Mr. Mac Dermot was born in London of Irish parents and has lived in both England and Ireland. He was educated at a boys' school near London and served in the British and Indian armies. After his military service he worked for a short time as advertising copywriter and from 1948 to 1967 served as reader, instructor, producer, and administrator for the British broadcasting corporation. For four years during this period he was loaned to the newly formed Nigerian broadcasting corporation to help train its staff in preparation for their country independence. From 1967 to 1968 Mr. MacDermot served in the United States as British information officer at the Saint Louis office before he was transferred to his present assignment in the British consulate general's office in Chicago. While he is in the Lakeland community tentative arrangements have been made tar Mr. Mac Dermot to speak for social studies classes at Wawasee high school. He will also be meeting with students in the junior high and elementary schools in the Lakeland area.
