14 YEARS AGO. NOV. IS. 19S1 Milford chief of police Robert Wolferman turned in his uniform last night and a new officer to take his place was named, it was learned today. Hired to take his place was Justin H. Kneeland. The Milford water department has announced that they will flush the hydrants on Tuesday or Wednesday. living in Bradenton. Fla. Mr. and Mrs. Mervin Mishler of Milford celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. The Mishlers were married November 23. 1911. Mr. and Mrs. Eli Pfister’s, of Elkhart entertained their son Jimmy 's Sunday school class at a pot luck supper. National Book week is being observed this week at the Milford's public library. The Van Buren-Jefferson Township Farm Bureau will meet at Milford high school for a pot luck supper at 6:30. 30 YEARS AGO. NOV-15,1945 Sixteen members of the Sorosis club were entertained Monday evening at the home of Mrs. Harold Young. Ezra Beer donated a Holstein to the European relief fund. It
was shipped November 14. Miller's Marker bowling team of Milford women defeated Liberty Coach team of Syracuse. The Bronze Star metal was awarded to the wife of Charles Remy for the heroism of Charles in the 26th infantry in France. Syracuse retained its position when it defeated the Milford Trojans Friday night. 40 YEARS AGO, NOV. Michael Reuter and family were guests at the silver wedding anniversary dinner of Mr. and Mrs. J. W, Rowdabaugh held at their home, recently. Mrs. Roy Treesh entertained several ladies Tuesday evening. Bridge was played, Mrs. Virgil Hursey and Mrs. Harry Martin winning the prizes. In an impromptu musical program Mrs. Cleo Estep sang a few numbers. The hostess served a nice lunch. An 84 pound son, David Allen, was born to Mr. and Mrs. Donald Smith on Monday morning, Nov. 11, at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. David Cox. Mr. Smith and family reside on the Otto Beer farm west of Milford and this being the first birth reported to us this month they are entitled to a year’s subscription to The Milford Mail.
