By JOAN BULETTY The Wawasee Warriors football team was rockel by the Plymouth team last Friday night in an exciting Northern Lakes Conference game by a score of 28-18 at Plymouth. The tribe burst onto the field in an explosion of enthusiasm which later died down to a low rumble as Wawasee lowered its record to 3-1 and a tie for second in the NLC The Plymouth Rockies started off the bout and remained in control throughout the first quarter Pete Buchanan, a fine Plymouth halfback and only a sophomore, tried to steal the whole show by scoring three touchdowns and rolling up a total of 260-yards for his offense Lit The Board ■ Second play of the game lit the scoreboard for the Rockies as Buchanan shot a 60-ya rd pass to DeWayne Stiles, and Ned Rudd kicked the extra point Later in the stanza, Plymouth grabbed a fumble by Wawasee’s Rick Bauman on the Wawasee 47 Five plays later. Buchanan scored a touchdown on a 20-yard pass to make the score 14-0 Wawasee Storms Wawasee really stormed back in the second quarter as Wes Bell sacked a six-yard pass from Keith Cripe early in the quarter to put the Warriors on the scoreboard The Rockies, however, came right back when Buchanan scored on a 23-yard run and Rudd followed up by booting the extra point Five plays after and the Warriors were m possession again Hard-running senior Denny Spearman took a 65-yard pass from Cnpe and plowed right through the Plymouth defense to add the second touchdown for the tribe Less than two minutes later.
