Mrs. Phil Stephens, West Lafayette, will be guest speaker at the September 16 North W’ebster United Methodist church United Methodist Women’s Society membership tea Mrs. Stephens is the wife of a United Methodist minister. She WCTU hears of 'Spiritual Values' Members of Anna Bowers Chapter Women’s Christian Temperance Union met September 2 in North Webster Church of the Brethren. Mrs Lawrence Wilcoxson opened the meeting by leading the group in singing "Oh Master Let Me Walk With Thee “ Prayer was offered by Rhoda Mock. Mrs. Wilcoxson gave devotions entitled “Spiritual Values ’’ She read from Proverbs 14:1-12. The minutes of the August meeting were read by Eva Lock. Mrs. Betty Barrett gave the treasurer’s report. Mrs Barrett gave the closing prayer The next meeting will be held October 7 at North Webster Church of the Brethren.

Roll call response was “Tell a home improvement invented since 1900.” During the business session plans were discussed for the Christmas bazaar and fall luncheon The duties of hostess, assistant hostess and various official duties and committee functions were explained. The group voted to donate to the Laurel Jean Mitchell Reward Fund. Mrs. Hamman will be hostess for the October meeting. Barbee Hoosier dub has carry-in A carry-in dinner was enjoyed September 3 by members of Barbee Hoosier club. The ladies met at Barbee Conservation club building Maxiene Harreld and Ellen Teagarden were accepted as new members. It was announced that there will be no regular meeting in October. Members are asked to participate in the annual conservation club clean up day held each October.
