By JOAN BILETTY The Wawasee Warriors zilched the helpless Warsaw Tigers 34-0 in their first official game of the season. Friday night at the Tiger’s home field before a large crowd, especially on the Wawasee side Coach Hal Tranolia s tribe out ran. out rushed, out passed and tremendously outscored their rival, the Tigers They stacked up 401-yards with 276 of those on the ground and 125 in the air. Rick Bauman, an outstanding junior contributed greatly compiling 206 yards, while the whole Warsaw team was held to only a one yard gain Bauman started his fantastic performance early tn the evening with a 62 yard run from Warsaw’s 38 With 9:38 left in the first quarter Warsaw's pass attempts failed as did every pass they attempted Friday night. Then the ball went back and forth as both defenses held the hne and passes failing Mitch Ousley of Wawasee was a strong point for the tribe’s defense with his brut tackles Cripe and Bauman definitely had the one-two punch against the Tigers Cripe kept rocketing pass after pass to Bauman who just kept eating up yards Healthy Lead In the second quarter Cripe got things really moving with an excellent pass to Ralph Reiff which out the Warriors on the one yard line Cripe hit Harlan

Allen hit Popenfoose again for the final touchdown and put an end to the one-sided scoring of a fine performance by the triumphant Warriors

He was found later by officers and cited.

Lions golf outing won by Syracuse and Milford clubs
The annual district 25-G Lions golf outing was held at the Maxwelton golf course on Wednesday with 214 men from 30 district clubs participating. The Syracuse Lions club served as host club with Merl Smith of Syracuse and Alex Miller of Silver Lake being co-chairmen for the event. The Syracuse Lions club also walked off with the low gross trophy while the Milford club won the low net award. Members of the winning Syracuse team were Jim Fry, Merl Smith, Ron Vestal and Dave Smith. Members of the winning Milford team were Leon Newman. D. G. (”Bud”) Seely. Wayne Sholtey and Dean Cousins.
Maxwelton ladies final day of play
Maxwelton golf club ladies on their final day of play of the season had “alternate shots” as play of the day. Winners for 18-hole play were: First. Gloria Stoffel and Betty Kline; and second. Marge Newcomer and Muriel Calander Nine hole winners were: First Marge Yoder and Joan Stoelting; and second. Polly Bonar and Bev Buletty. After lunch a meeting was held for the two groups, with officers elected as follows:

Fry also won the award for the longest drive. James Tranter of Syracuse was closest to the pin and Wayne Goshorn of the Elkhart Noon club was the player with the highest score. Prizes were awarded to 25 Lions who had the lowest gross and 25 Lions who had the lowest net scores for the day. First low gross went to Harold VanSletter of Center Township. South Bend, with a 71. He was also given the title of 25-G champ. Other low gross winners included Denny Grotrian of Fort Wayne with 73, Norm Baker of Culver with 75, Jim Fry of Syracuse with 76 and Ora Miller of New Paris. Ron Vestal of Syracuse.
