Mrs. Marie L. Banning Mrs. Marie L. Banning, 83, r 1 Pierceton, a member of the Syracuse-North Webster community all of her life, passed away Thursday at 8:40 a.m at the Alfran nursing home in Warsaw. She had been ill for several years. Mrs. Banning Was born in Newark, N. J. on August 15,1891, to Oscar and Rosalie (Karl) Ricard. Her marriage to Frank J. Banning took place on Apnl 22, 1922. He preceded her in death in 1981. She was a member of the North Webster United Methodist church. Survivors include a daughter. Mrs. Kermit (Ruth) Summers, r 1 Pierceton; one grandson; and on** sister. Mrs. Rose Foulger. Grand Rapids. Mich. Services were held Sunday in North Webster Burial was in the North Webster cemetery. Vaughn C. Anderson Death claimed Vaughn C. Anderson, 69, Shriner Lake. Columbia City, father of Mrs. Steve (Linda) Moore of Leesburg at 10:27 p.m. Friday. Death came in the Whitley County hospital where he had been a patient for five weeks. The deceased was bom in Winchester on October 17,1905 to Carlton and Georgia (Chenoweth) Anderson He married Betty McWhmney on December 29. 1999. Surviving with the widow and Leesburg daughter are two other daughters, Mrs. Dean (Martha) Shively of r 7 Warsaw and Mrs James (Barbara) VanWey of South Whitley; six grandchildren; and a sister. Mrs. Vera Garland of Detroit. Clarence Gunter Funeral services were held at 10:30a.m. Monday in Warsaw for Clarence Gunter, brother of Edward Gunter of Leesburg Gunter, 63, r 5 Warsaw, was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko county. He died Friday at 10:10 p.m. in Parkview Memorial hospital in Fort Wayne. He had been in failing health for the past two years and seriously ill for the past five months. He had resided m Warsaw for the past 35 years and was employed by Zimmer USA. The deceased was bom on March 3.1912 in Claypool. He was the son of Foster and Bessie (Frymire) Gunter. He married Ruth E. Templin on June 24,1940 in Leesburg. Surviving with the wife and Leesburg brother are a daughter. Mrs. Ray (Janet Clare) Aldrin of Hammon; one sister. Mrs. Mike Falway of Warsaw; and three other brothers. Alton of Warsaw, Cloyce of Mishawaka and Gale of Herrin, 111. Rev. Ray Mills officiated at the services. Burial was in the Leesburg cemetery. Births MANN. Tyrone David Mr. and Mrs. David Mann of Winona Beach. Warsaw, are the parents of a son. Tyrone David, bom Tuesday, July 22, in the Lutheran hospital at Fort Wayne. Tyrone tipped the scales at five pounds, six ounces when he was bom at 12:59 p.m. Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs Daniel Levernier, Milford. Mr. and Mrs. Jack E. Mann. Warsaw, are paternal grandparents Martin W. Levernier of Lake Wawasee is maternal greatgrandfather Mr and Mrs. E. F. July 22, in the Murphy Medical Center in Warsaw. John weighed eight pounds, one half ounce, was 21 inches long and was bom at 3:49 p.m. Mr and Mrs. Gilbert Springer of Fort Wayne are the maternal grandparents. Paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Henry Liberti of Richmond. The newborn has two stepsisters. Althea Kay Rogers, 10 and Michelle Robinette Rogers, seven. EDITH BONTRAGER UNDERGOES SURGERY Edith Bontrager of Waubee Lake remains a patient in the Goshen hospital in room 261 where she is recuperating from a fractured right leg which she suffered in an auto accident on July 14. Surgery was performed Saturday at which time a pin and plate were put into the leg. She is presently allowed out of bed for a short time each day. DICK HILL IS TAKEN TO HOSPITAL The Syracuse ambulance was called Saturday at 9:31 a.m. to transport Dick Hill, 85, of r 1 Syracuse to Goshen hospital. CRIS BAUMGARTNER IS INJURED SUNDAY Cris, seven-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Baumgartner of Milford, was injured shortly before noon on Sunday when her arm became lodged in a conveyor belt at The Papers Incorporated printing plant in Milford. She was taken to the Goshen hospital by the Milford emergency unit where she was treated for multiple contusions to her right forearm and bums on her chin and neck. She was released following treatment and is recovering at her home. Cards of T HANKS CARD OF THANKS The family of Blaine E. The remodeling will cost $2,620. The present covering is to be removed and a non-skid tile will, be layed. The project has been approved by the division of schoolhouse planning. A public hearing was held at 7 p.m. on additional appropriation from the cumulative building fund for $5,300 for purchase of land and related fees for project 5799, lot 38 of Warner’s second addition to North Webster. No taxpayers were present to object. Approval was given for a GED test diploma to be signed for Jan Wright of Milford. A piece of land was sold to the Wawasee building trades class for SI,OOO. This was the only bid. The class will use the land to build a house on during the coming school year.
