John Hossinger, well known area golfer, dead at 55
John Hossinger, 55. Kendallville, was killed Sunday evening at 5:10 p.m. when the Cadillac he was driving went off the Cromwell road, one mile west of US 33. south of Kimmell. The auto went off the south side of the road, on which he was traveling west and struck a tree head on. The accident is still under investigation. There were no skid marks. Furmon G. Buck Furmon G. Buck. 78. of Syracuse, passed away July 18 in Goshen hospital. He had been ill for two weeks He was born August 7, 1896 in Cromwell to Winnie and Katrina • Miller) Buck. He had Ined the past 53 years on Lake Wawasee Buck was married October 20. 1920 in Albion to Irene Priest who survives He was a landscaper by trade Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Frank * Eunice) Stechcon of South Bend, a brother. Mr. Hossinger was well known in the area as a businessman and golfer. In 1968 he won the 21st annual Amzie Miller golf class at Maplecrest country club with a 37-31-68 He was a member of the Maxwelton and South Shore golf courses maintaining a two handicap. Born in Albion on November 16, 1919, he moved to Kendallville 21 years ago from Fort Wayne. He was a World War II veteran. In Kendallville, he was president of Hossinger Refrigeration. Inc. and a member of the Elks club, s, Moose lodge, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars Surviving are his wife. Jane; two sons. Jon. Kendallville and Hal. at home; one grandchild; one brother, Harold. Kendallville. a sister, Mrs Helen Johnson. Cromwell; and his mother. Mrs Cora Reed Funeral services will be held today 'Wednesday) at 2 p.m in the Berhalter-Hutchins funeral home in Kendallville Rev John E Weeks will officiate. Mrs. Clara B. Fisher Funeral services were held Monday for Mrs Clara B Fisher, r 3 Peru, m the Church of the Brethren at Mexico She was the mother of Mrs. Herbert Morehouse of Milford. Rev. John Mishler and Rev Jay McKinley officiated and interment was in Greenlawn cemetery at Mexico. Mrs Fisher died at 7 p.m. Friday in Dukes hospital at Peru Mrs Fisher was born August 12.1889 m Fulton county She was the daughter of Silas and Margaret (St. Clair) Lowman On August 5.1908. she was united in marriage to Rev Harley U. Fisher He preceded her in death September 27. 1972 . She was a member of the Church of the Brethren at Mexico ’ , Survivors include two sons. Isaac L Fisher. David C. Fisher, both of Peru; two daughters, Mrs Rex Fultz. Fort Wayne and
Mrs. Morehouse, r 1 Milford; one brother H. H. Lowman, r 1 NewMadison, Ohio; nine grandchildren; and 24 greatgrandchildren. Two daughters and one brother preceded her in death.
Doris H. Laudeman Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m Thursday in the Riverside United Methodist church at Bremen for Doris H. Laudeman. 79. 303 E Plymouth. Bremen, mother of Robert Laudeman of Syracuse. Mrs. Laudeman died at 6 a m. Tuesday in the Bremen hospital after a lengthy illness. She was born in Bourbon township in Marshall county on Julv 18. 1896 to Chauncey and Modessa (Neidig) Becknell and had lived in that area her entire life On October 9. 1918 she was married in German township to Ernest L. Laudeman He survives She was a housewife. Mrs Laudeman was a past treasurer of the German Township Women’s Christian Temperance Union and was a member of the Riverside church Surviving with the husband and Syracuse son are another son. Glenn of Bremen; and four grandchildren. Officiating at the services will be Rev. C. Samuel Overmeyer.. Rev. Debra Hall and Rev John Schroeder, all of Bremen. Burial will be in the Bremen cemetery. Virgil O. Stump Services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Union Center Church of the Brethren for Virgil 0. Stump, r 1 Nappanee. 84, who died Saturday at 10:45p.m. due to congestive heart failure. He was a patient at Elkhart hospital having been ill for two weeks. Mr Stump was born in Noble county. September 27. 1890 to Jacob and Catherine (KeckStump He was a resident of the Gravelton community. Surviving with his wife are four daughters. Mrs. Charles Losee and Mrs. Merle Croy, both of r 1 Milford; Mrs Harvey DeFrees, r 3 Syracuse, Mrs. Arnold Dollmann. New Paris; three sons. Robert, South Bend. Virgil. Nappanee. Eldon. New Paris; 18 grandchildren. 26. greatgrandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Also surviving are two

E Paul Weaver officiated and burial was in the Union Center cemetery. Mrs. Agnes Stump Services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at a Goshen funeral home for Mrs. Noble B. (E. Agnes) Stump.7s. r 1 Goshen, who died at 6:50 p.m. Monday at Qoshen hospital Mrs. Stump was a lifetime resident of the Goshen area, and was employed with Stanley Home Products for 20 years. She was bom cm April 20. 1900 at Saint Marie. Hl., and was married to Noble B. Stump on December 29. 1928. Surviving with her husband of Fountain View nursing home, Elkhart, are three sons. John C. Mrs. Katie Johnson Mrs Katie Johnson. 83. r 4 .Syracuse, passed away at 10:05 am Friday. Death came at the Alfran nursing home in Warsaw. She had been ill for a year. Mrs. Johnson was bom in Round county, Ky.. on September 1. 1891. to James and Julia Bolen) Fraley. Her husband Willard preceded her in death in August 1947. She moved from Joliet. 111., to Warsaw ' Surviving are three sons, Art, r 4 Syracuse. Henry E.. Joliet. 111., and Tommy Arnold. Toledo, Ohio; two daughters. Ruby A. Warner. Sacramento, Calif., and Ruth Edna Goldie, Glendale. Calif.; 19 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Services were held in the Trinity Freewill Baptist church in Ypsilanti. Mich., where Mrs. Johnson was a member. Burial was in Highland cemetery. Ypsilanti.
Mrs. Jacob D. Pensinger Mrs. Jacob D. (Bertha B.) Pensinger. 78, 719 S. Lake St., Syracuse, passed away July 20 at 9:10 p.m. Death came in Goshen hospital due to complications following surgery-She had been ill for some time and had been hospitalized for two weeks. Mrs. Pensinger was bom in Brown county on January 15,1897 to Marcus and Josie (Conover) Brattan. Her foster father was William Snavely. She was a Syracuse resident for over 64 years. She married Jacob Dio Pensinger on May 9, 1914 in Warsaw. Surviving with the husband are. a daughter. Mrs. Lewis (Irene) Schliem. Rockford. Ill.; two grandsons. Philip Schliem. Adina. Minn., and petty officer Steven Schliem. Milwaukee. Wise.; and one great-grandson. Funeral services will be held today (Wednesday) at 1:30 p.m. in the Harris funeral home in Syracuse with Rev. Ross Cook officiating. Burial will be in the Syracuse cemetery.
Daryl D. Wilson Daryl D. (“Buck”) Wilson, Nappanee, executive director of the National Holiday Rambler Travel Trailer club died early Monday at the organization's national rally at the Dodge county fairgrounds in Beaver Dam, Wis. Death was caused by an apparent heart attack. Wilson was reported to have been up early Monday morning visiting with others. He returned to his trailer to rest and was stricken. He was bom October 27,1925 in Mason City. lowa, to Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Wilson. He married the former Francis Porter on January 20,1947. He worked with livestock in lowa for several years and in 1952 joined the lowa state patrol. He left the patrol in 1969 to become executive director of the travel trailer club. In 1973 he was made a vice president and officer of the Holiday Rambler corporation in addition to his other position. Wilson was a veteran of World War II and was a member of the American Legion post at Nappanee. He was also a member of the Hampton. lowa, Masonic lodge. Surviving with the widow are a daughter, Sandy Hansen of Chattanooga. Tenn.; and a son. Brian of Nappanee; and one grandson. Funeral services will be held tomorrow (Thursday) at 11 a.m. in the Vogel-Stietsman funeral home at Hampton, lowa, with Rev. Cliff Scholuz, who will substitute for the National Holiday Rambler chaplain, officiating at the services.

On Monday the ambulance was dispatched for Mrs. John (Dorthy) Augsburger. 67, r 1 Syracuse. She was taken to the hospital for treatment of a reaction to prescribed medicine. Also on Monday, Chancy Max Betz, 16, Syracuse, was brought to the police station suffering from problems due to high blood pressure. At 3:23 am. Sunday, Grace Ripley, 84. r 2 Syracuse, was taken to the intensive care unit at the hospital following congested lung problems. Then at 10:33 a.m., the ambulance was dispatched to Smith-Walbridge camp for Ann Moore, 62, Flint, Mich., when she complained of chest pains.

Paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Millard Tom of r 2 Leesburg. Mrs. Ethel Cripe of Orlando, Fla., is Cory’s maternal greatgrandmother. Cory has a sister, Christina Gail, age three.
