Brock Manufacturing V names new president
Paul Brembeck has been promoted to president and Jim Evans has been promoted to general manager of Brock Manufacturing in Milford. The appointments were made by the founder of Brock, Howard Brembeck, who remains with the company as chairman of the board, but relinquishes his position as president Paul (Bud) Brembeck. former general manager, came to Brock in 1967 as plant manager. He previously owned a hardware and supply business in. Wabash. He lives ta* Waubee Lake. Milford, withnis wife, Maxine, a daughter. Kristine and son. Tom. Syracuse'. Mr Evans, who was assistant general manager since 1974, was formerly plant superintendent of Miles Laboratories. His home is in Elkhart, where he resides with his wife. Vivienne, and two sons, Jim and Jon. They attend the First Church of the Nazarene. Paul Brembeck will be responsible for the execution of company policies and programs and Mr Evans will be in charge of the overall operation reporting to Mr. Brembeck Both appointments were effective July 1. Brock was founded in 1957. It’s original product, feed bins, is now distributed world-wide. Brock’s grain bins are primarily distributed in the midwest.

S2OO damages in accident at area railroad crossing An accident at 11:30 p.m. Saturday on SR 13 was investigated by the Syracuse police department. Camp Tamarack opens for its 21st season
Camp Tamarack and Will Welber family camp located at Wood Lake scout reservation. Jones. Midi., opened its 21st season of camping on Sunday, June 22, by welcoming 10 scout troops with 134 Scouts for the first period of camp. This year Camp Tamarack is offering both patrol cooking and meals served in the (fining hall as two food service options. Each troop is encouraged to cook some meals on a patrol basis. Phil Niswonger, a veteran scout er from South Bend is the camp director. He and three other staff members have completed a week long national camp school this year and three others have attended camp school in previous years to

properly prepare them to operate camp. An exciting program including aquatic activities such as swimming, fishing, boating, canoeing and sailing, archery, rifle and shotgun shooting, various sports events and a wide variety of scout craft activities are offered. A new feature this year is a rugged patrol confidence course — 36 outdoor merit badges are offered by staff members who serve as merit badge counselors. Art Caster, South Bend, council camping chairman stated nearly 100 troops are expected to attend camp Tamarack during the seven week season this year, which will end August 9.
George Flake, South Bend, council cub scouting vice president announces a unique and innovative camp will be conducted for Webelos scouts, boys who are 10 years of age. at camp Tamarack. August 10-15. Reservations are still open for additional applicants for Webelos camp and for summer camp for scouts. A provisional troop will be available for scouts who are imable to attend the week their troop goes to camp or for those who wish to attend two or more periods. Members of Sakima lodge, order of the arrow conduct Indian dancing and calling out ceremonies each W’ednesday night. This is parent night and
visitors are welcome at camp Tamarack that evening starting at 7 pin. Special features of this year’s camp include a loggers stew, cooked and served outdoors by the camp staff on Sunday evening, and a Paul Bunyan breakfast on Saturday morning. The campwide campfires are conducted Suiday and Friday nights. A campwide event featuring patrol competition will be conducted each week just prior to closing of each camp period Richard Unwin, catholic chaplain conducts a chapel service each week and counsels scouts on their religious awards. The Welber family camp is
available for scout ers families to come and enjoy a week of fun and relaxation while the father is a scoutmaster in camp with his troop. It is also available to other scouters and their families. Bobby Nordin in Sweden Bobby Nordin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Nordin of r 2 Milford, left for Sweden on June 24. Bobby will visit Stockholm and then travel north to Hanick, Sweden, during his month long trip. Bobby will be a freshman at Wawasee high school this fall.
Bike rider is injured Patrick f Kintigh, 25, r 1 Syracuse, sustained a concussion, a possible fractured left arm and injuries of the shoulder while riding a bicycle on Bay Vista drive in Syracuse at 9 p.m. Wednesday, July 2. Police officers did not know it was a hit and run case or if Kintigh fell off of the bike. The bicycle was not damaged. Investigating Kosciusko patrolman Tom Kitch reported that Kintigh was not able to tell for sure but Kintigh thought it was a red car, late model, that struck him. He was taken to Goshen hospital.
