r\ tAilf or J\ I / Summer I Little League results for the past week are as follows: Milford-Nappanee Mark Evans and Greg Weisser allowed only one hit and shut out Nappanee one to nothing in the first game of a double header. Mark Evans was the winning pitcher. Nappanee-MU ford Milford scored five runs in the first, inning and then were shut out the rest of the way as Nappanee came storming back to win the game 7-5. Tom Troup led Milford in hitting. Twins-Cards The Twins handed the first place Cards their first defeat of the season The Cards were defeated 4-3 in extra innings. Ricky Pena was the winning pitcher. Paul Steury hit a two-run homer for the Twins. Reds-Sox Mark Evans hit two doubles and was the winning pit char as he led the Reds to a 8-5 victory over the Sox. Mike LeCount drove in two runs for the Sox. T-Ball Results The Orioles defeated the Athletics 28-13 in T-Ball play this week Tracy Ryman hit a home nr, two triples, a single, knocked in five runs and scored four runs to lead the Orioles to a 28 to 13 victory over the A’s. Craig Ostendorf hit a home run for the Athletics. Girls Soft ball In girls .softball the Dodgers defeated the Mets 8-4. the Giants defeated the Braves 3-2 and the Braves stopped the Pirates 19-9. Lana Beer and Myra Ruch scared three runs each to lead the Dodgers to a 6-4 victory over the Mets. Anita Blackburn drove in two rims for the Mets. The Giants, getting great fielding, squeaked by the Braves 3-2. Tammy Miller drove in two runs for the Giants. Vicki Evans

< HT- I ® A INDY SPORTS CAMP — Brother Bernard Letoenhefaner, OSC, vice president of host programs at Wawasee Prep announced the opening of the Indy Sports camp at Wawasee Prep on July 6. The Indy Camp is under the direction of Jim Gable and will run in two one-week segments during the weeks of July 6 and 13, with activities that include ice-hockey (played each day at the South Bend ‘•lce-Box”), football, basketball, baseball, karate, swimming, etc. Some of the coaches for the two weeks of camp include recently-signed Jacques Demers of the Indianapolis Racers. George Theofanis and Dave Oberting of the Butler university coaching staff. This is Indy’s second year at Prep. They were preceded this summer by two weeks of gymnastics under the direction of Paul Mayer of Ball State and the Muncie gymnastics school and one week of wrestling coached by Pete Samuels, also of Ball State. Other camps remaining in the summer '75 host program include soccer, football, physical fitness, and the Bishop Dwenger band camp.

Wawasee girls score 23-8 victory The Wawasee high school girls softball team pounded out 24 hits in a 23-8 win over Becker and Chrispyns last Wednesday in the Goshen Women’s fastpitch league. Betsy Williams had four hits while Kathi Replogle, Nancy Shock, Tammy Schumn. Barb Brouwer, Jeanie Dye and Brenda Reptogle each had three hits. The game was halted after five innings due to the 15 run rule. The Wawasee girls scored 15 runs in the first two innings. Shock, Schumn and Brouwer had home runs. Next Game The next league game is Thursday, July 10, at Goshen at 6 pjn. On Saturday, July 12. the team plays IRV at 12:30 p.m. at Rodgers Park. This starts the tourney to determine which teams go to the semi-state the following week at Elkhart. x Batting Averages ' The first half batting averages are as follows: Nancy Shock .737, Kathi Replogle .619, Betsy Williams .600, Tammy Schumn .519, Barb Brouwer .682, Martha Salazar .478, Phyllis Howath, .577, Brenda Replogle .423, Jeanne Dye .690. Killie White .571, Mary Kitson .600. The team average tor the first half of the season is an unbelievable .620. The bus leaves Thursday at 4:45 from the Syracuse junior high field.
Bartkowioks participate in derby Tim Bartkowiak, 15, and Kathi Bartkowiak. 13, children of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Bartkowiak of North Webster, will be competing Saturday in a soapbox derby in Fort Wayne. Both built their own cars for the race. Anyone ages 11-15 years is eligible to enter The winners will go to the Akron, Ohio, national race. Last year Tim took eighth place of the 53 participants. This is Kathi’s first race in Fort Wayne. LAKELAND LOCAL Don R.
