Herbert Petrie dies in Florida Major Herbert Petrie, 74, Sarasota. Fla., founder of the Wagon Wheel playhouse and restaurant in Warsaw-, died Thursday morning in a Tampa hospital of a heart attack He was born on April 14,, 1901 at Mason City. 111. and graduated from high school there He also graduated from the American conservatory of music. He served as band director at North Central college and as a consultant for the Indiana university school of music. He was affiliated with the . Warsaw Rotary club. American Legion and shrine Surviving is the widow. Mildred (Westerfield) Petrie, who headed the Warsaw Community high school speech department for 24 years before she retired m 1969 Funeral services were held in Florida on Sunday and in Wilmore. Ky.. on Tuesday. Robert H. (Stonecypher) Wenger He served in the US Navy in the Pacific theatre during World War U He was a member of the Goshen VFW and Elks lodge. Surviving with the stepson are a son. Ernest Wenger. Ocala. Fla.; a daughter. Mrs. Melvin (Penny) McNeal, Walkerton; four brothers. Jacob and Richard, both of Goshen. Howard. Odessa. Texas, and Donald. Fort Leavenworth. Kan.; -two sisters. Mrs. Walter Helen Grimes and Mrs Jack (Jean) Ralston, both of Goshen; and six grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday in a Goshen funeral home with Rev D. W. Rogers officiating. Burial was in the Violett cemetery. Mrs. Thornton Swanson Mrs Thornton (Lucille) Swanson. 62. Atwood, sister of Mrs Ruby Lewallen of North Webster, passed away Wednesday at 10:28 a m. Death came in the South Bend Memorial hospital and was due to cancer. Mrs Swanson was born in North Webster oq May 1 14,1913, to Matthew and Mabie (Hamman) Firestone. Her marriage to Thornton Swanson took place on February 2. 1931 He survives She was active in the Atwood Legion Auxiliary and a member of the Otterbein United Methodist church in her hometown Surviving with the sister and husband are. three sons. Jack and Jon of San Angelo. Texas and Dick of Atwood, a daughter, Mrs. Van (Janet) Burgess of Acton. Ky.; 14 grandchildren; and one greatgrandchild. Services were held Saturday in a Warsaw funeral home. Burial was m Oakwood cemetery.
Larry L. Hanes Funeral services were held Saturday in the Bremen Church of the Brethren for Larry.: L. Hanes. 33. r 1 Tippecanoe, brother of Mrs. Karen Coddens of r 2 Milford. Hanes died at 10:50 a m. June 25 of injuries sustained in a ditching cave-in near Bremen on East Fifth road in Marshall county. 3 A self-employed electrician, he was bom May 10, 1942 in Marshall county. He was the son of Oliver and Laura (Franklin) Hanes. He was married to Mary Antonides on December 29. 1963 She survives as do his parents. He served with the US Army in Germany for 24 years and was a life-time resident of the area He attended the Tippecanoe Community church and was a member of the Tajma-Newcastle Lions dub. Surviving with the widow, parents and Milford sister are one daughter. Lanette and one son. LaVun. both at home*? another sister. Delores Kaminski Goshen; a half-sister. Velma Clemons of Akron; and one brother. Wayne of r 1 Bourbon. Mrs. Don Foltz Mrs. Don (Lola M.) Foltz. 69. Mishawaka, mother of Edward E Foltz. Leesburg, died Friday in her home. Death came at 10 a.m. Moving to Mishawaka seven years ago from Nappanee, she was born in Rochester to Henry and Loretta (White) Holloway on July 2. 1905 On August 25. 1923 she married Don Foltz. He survives. Also surviving are two daughters. Mrs Robert Veal. Mishawaka and Mrs. Noel George. Nappanee, 12 grand children, 11 great-grandchildren; and one brother/ Charles Holloway. Mesa. Ariz. Services were held Sunday in an Osceola funeral home with the Rev Robert Fields officiating. Interment was in the Nichols * cemetery at Akron. Births MURPHY. Dana Reiniche Mr. and Mrs. John Murphy of r 2 Milford are the parents of a son. Dana Reiniche. bom on Tuesday, June 24, in the Goshen hospital.

Estes. 715 East Swayzee St.. Marion, was rushed to the Murphy Medical Center with a compound fracture to her left leg and internal bleeding. She died at the hospital. She had been trapped in the car for over an hour as rescuers worked to free her from the crushed vehicle. £ < Two passengers. Jo Dewan Cook, Middleton and Kim Pollen. Marion, were treated at the hospital immediately following the accident for abrasions and bruises and released. The vehicle, according to investigating officers, skidded 35 feet after passing another car. left the roadway, traveled another 10© feet then struck a post which is 11 feet off the road. A Doctor Noble of Indianapolis was on the scene. He was assisted by the Syracuse medical team in giving emergency treatment.
